Northern Ireland does not represent that flag and is not allowed to. Ireland hasn't been part of the UK since 1919. It's time we get the old Union Flag back.

falnk with cavlary. stay a way from muder hoels.
That's the same for every nation of the Union. Their official flag is the Union Flag, the flag of the Union, however all four nations use 2nd flags to identify their individual national identities.
I think we should revise the Union Flag, but do it so that it incorporates Wales. Which was omitted from the Union Flag because it is a Principality and not a sovereign nation. I think it would be awesome to have a Dragon it!

I've always thought the Union Flag rather garish.
The EU one is much prettier.

It's not that I'd rather have a European flag, it's just that ours is a bit tacky. Maybe we could keep the same colours, but arrange them into bars?
What? No...? Oh.
A bit tacky!?
Lol it's definitely a lot better than a tricolor. I mean EVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVERYONE has a Tricolor from Ireland, Holland, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Luxembourgh, Belgium, Russia, Romania. and many more I can't even think of off the top of my head lol. Atleast ours is different.
When I was little I always wished our flag was one of those funky off kilter crosses like what the Scandinavians have.

If prefix's tell me anything, its that your flag is a "tricolor".
The welsh dragon, the St. Patrick's cross...You brits never settle down your issues with your flag. And I agree with Milanese Dynasty, three-color-fringed flags are boring and over-extended throughout the world.

(...) and that unfortunate People were afterwards forced to undergo the utmost Miseries of a Siege, in their Capital City of Barcelona; during which, great Multitudes of them perished by Famine and the Sword, many of them have since been executed; and great Numbers of the Nobility of Catalonia, who, for their Constancy and Bravery in Defence of their Liberties, and for their Services in Conjunction with Her Majesty and Her Allies, had, in all Honour, Justice, and Conscience, the highest Claim to Her Majesty's Protection, are now dispersed in Dungeons throughout the Spanish Dominions.

The Union Flag/Jack is made up of each of the countries patron saint's flags.
St. George. - England &Wales (Wales is not separate from England officially)
St. Andrew. - Scotland
St. Patrick. - Ireland, successor state being NORTHERN Ireland.

Is that true? I used to live with two welshies at uni and by God did they dislike us English. I doubt they feel any sort of affiliation with the St George's cross. Don't they have their own parliament though?
The day the Welsh dragon appears on the Union Flag is the day I sell up and move to France. Ain't gonna happen.
That's not why, it's because Wales was never technically joined the union, as it was conquered by the English.I think we should revise the Union Flag, but do it so that it incorporates Wales. Which was omitted from the Union Flag because it is a Principality and not a sovereign nation. I think it would be awesome to have a Dragon it!
What's wrong with the second red cross for NI anyway?

No, but Wales was a province of England, like Cornwall. Or should Cornwall be represented too? So they both counted as part of England, and thus shared England's saint.
An Assembly, a glorified local council.Don't they have their own parliament though?
Even if we were to have Wales represented on the flag it would be the St. Davids flag, not any Dragon. The day the Welsh dragon appears on the Union Flag is the day I sell up and move to France. Ain't gonna happen.
The Cornish are far smaller in number, weaker historically in resolve, and not as culturally independent thanks to centuries of assimilation but the Welsh, at least in recent times thanks to Cymru and the devolution have had a little revitalisation. But in the last century the Welsh dislike of the English was like the Yorkshire dislike of Lancashire. Regional, as opposed to national.
