events.dat not rebuilding
Hello,
i installed rome completely new, cause i tried to change a few sounds.
But the rome doesnt rebuild the *.dat files. Even with a fresh installation and untouched soundfiles.
Any advice?
Regards

Re: events.dat not rebuilding
you don't actually need the .dat file, without it it will just use the sounds that the text files tell it to. So if you have original text files and sounds pack you'll still get original sounds without the .dat file, but you are then free to also change the text files to refer to add new sounds.

It works with modified sound text files out of a mod folder.
But shoudn't the dat and idx files get rebuild by RTW?
What could be the reason for RTW to not rebuild the files, even with original untouched ones?

Re: events.dat not rebuilding
The reason is that they`re not like the map.rwm file and do not get "rebuilt" as you`ve said.
