Shortcut starts vanilla Med 2

I installed the mod just as I did a few years ago, followed the instructions and everything. The regular 1648 shortcut starts vanilla Med2 in windows mode but not the mod. When I try to run the 1648 Mutation shortcut it says it can't find the Launcher.exe tried pointed it to it and it says Medieval 2 encountered a fatal error and will shutdown. Any ideas? Thanks! I'm running the steam version on windows 10

You need to update the base installation with the patch - that will make version 2.0 steam compatible.

Version 2.0.606 - 12th November 2015

• Combined previous patches
• Fully Steam compatible
• Original launcher separate for language and mutation changes
• Updated German text files
• Fixed inconsistency in quotes
• Added set up for 'provincial campaigns', to be playable via hot seat as well

Apparently it was an issue with my set launch options. Deleted it and it worked. Thanks for the help!

Steam Launch options are a bit restrictive and are certainly not needed for this mod.

For other mods this guide should get you set up.
