The french king enjoyed the comfort of plentiful food and wine , enjoying the limits of his state, under perhaps the shield of the protections from the greater power of the english empire , and was quietly pleased at the news that the english state would be taking a pro-active lead in the crusade . But his enjoyment was shortlived with a message from Henry asked for his son , to be handed over as a hostage , for frances good graces , to act as security for the french state, whilst he traveled abroad .

"Non!" , was the french kings answer, and he scattered all the food and trays from the table , leaving in huff of indigence as only a frenchman could.

After a few days of rapid diplomacy from his wife, his son , and other important french dignitaries , he was convinced [at such duration after many arguments] to accede to the request, and knowing that his son , would be well tutored and kept in London, returned to his palace, under a fit of sulk for the next few weeks , after saying goodbye to his son.

His son for his part, was excited at the prospect of viewing the english court, with all its supposed luxuries and military facilities and hoped to receive special weapons training perhaps at the hands of the warlike court. What he was worried about however was the state of english food , and their natural cooking techniques of boiling everything to death , and leeching away all the flavour , but he was assured from the english ambassador who occupied him , as he travelled thought english terrority , that the english court, had norman french chefs, and he should find the food at court, appealing , although he could'nt promise anything else away from court , much to the young nobles happyness..



The french state, although restricted on the number of its troops , by the accord with england , did however have a reasonable crop , filling the french coffers with much gold due to trade this year, and sent a message to the pope, that if any of its finances could help the crusade that they were willing to make a small contribution to the efforts of the holy church.

I am most pleased with the outcome of the recent decision of the English King, it will help maintain peace in Western Europe and let me move out more men for the crusade.
I have sent one of my best commanders to lead the first army to face the Turks, Friedrich Welf, he will slay the heathens with ease and help restore the holy lands to it's rightfull king.

Now that the english agression towards Genoa has been delt with and that peace is assured, the Holy Crusade against the
turkish invasion of Europe and reconquering of the holy land can begin anew. The Holy crusade will be led by no other than
the Holy Roman Emperor and Defeder of the catholic faith himself. Every Kingdom will be expected to participate or face
excommunication by the Holy Church, great diplomatic punishment and disdain from your own populace. All sins will be
forgiven by God, any loot pillaged will be yours and any territorial gains goes to the conquerer!

The Lords of Scotland held a meeting near London. Something had to be done upon the Polish and the Muslims. It would be hard to deal with both problems simultaneously. King Etgar, who had been upset over the way things were going, wanted a more aggressive approach. Some of his advisers sat quietly as he suggested the raping and pillaging of the Polish who he now believed to be godless heathens, but, his brother Prince Alexander of Inverness had tried to convince him of one last diplomatic approach for if it worked it would yield a muhc better outcome for the realm and for christianity.

King Etgar was feeling the pressure from his brother and advisors as his only son (adopted) Ranald was in the battlefield with the Kings brother David. He also thought of how he hadn't seen his brother David in years and they had been so close. He wouldn't want him to die in a war that could be prevented, along with his adopted son Ranald. He hoped the two of them were working well together and looked forward to meeting with them again and so he agreed with his advisers to send negotiations to the Pope and to the Poles

If we are going to put pressure on the Pope on this issue we will need the English to put the pressure on as well. "Send a horse and a messenger to the English Courts and with haste!"

Our Danish brothers whom we share the island of Ireland with, will not die by the hands of the godless heathens in Poland!

I am sorry everyone, but Mergor has made a right call for sure. With the new path my life took after i started at the university i can't keep up with the hotseating like I used to. I really enjoyed this hotseat a lot, and it was just getting more and more interesting. I will still stick around and hopefully one day i will have the time and trust to take up the battle again.
