Try not to die. You didn't expect them to give up their forest without a fight did you?

They make a few such attacks into Fangorn after you take Treebeard's Hill. Eventually however they will stop and the Ents will be declared as destroyed.

how many attacks should I expect? 6 times or more?

There are two or three scripted attacks but if you don't obliterate them they will rout then attack again so it could be anything. It takes away the fun and the surprise if you knew exactly how many times they would attack. I find it funny that so many people think it is a bug though. Why would the Ents not fight back?

Yes, I Know some about compatibility issues and have some modding skill
I'm using this tutorial http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...Diplomacy-v1-2 , not the files provided but the instructions for modified Kingdoms, and I believe that just need the advice button back

Hello, I have just installed 0.5 and I am getting the "Medieval II encountered an error" whenever I try to launch. I also have MOS but I have just installed a fresh Third Age 3.2 so it shouldn't be that. I have the Steam Version and I installed the 3 parts into the following; [ C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age_3\data ] I am unsure of what the issue could be. I am also in the newest windows version if that is any help. Thanks in advance!

I don't actually know I am afraid. Very possibly it is in the .cfg file which can be found here:
    ...SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age_DaC

Unsure of any compatibility issues we might get due to Win 10 but more than likely it is a bugged installer or download. Getting a crash on start up is an error with the files and as there are no bugs at start up at all it means it is an error with your files I am afraid.

All I can recommend is to read EVERY installation instruction and carry them all out even if you think they are stupid or unimportant.

Also, did you install the fresh Third_Age alongside MOS or over the top? If it is the latter then you will have to delete your Third Age folder and start all over again.

Thanks for the reply, but I actually solved my problem just 5 minutes ago I must have installed part 1 twice, one being to the proper place, and one to just ...Third_Age_3 I moved all parts 1's files to the data folder and overwrote the existing ones. And Bam! There we go. Also I got the crashing bug when I was selecting factions and the map changing thing. I remember you mentioning it in your overview video on YouTube and that you have fixed it in the next patch. Just figured I'd mention it

Thanks again. I am looking forward to staring my first DaC campaign!!!

Copy and pasting files will not work. The first part of the installer deleted important files and must be run into the correct location. I highly recommend you start again sorry.

Everything seems to work fine. Maybe it was part 2 that I installed in the wrong location and then copy and pasted, but the game works fine. I have started a campaign and played a few battles and no crashes yet. Other than the faction selection part where the map changes. But as you said in the video, you have fixed that in 0.51

I was wondering where I can change the main menu music, no offense, I like your mod's theme but I want to change it up a bit, and put MOS's theme, as I heard their theme in the campaign map, sorry for any offense.

BTW, weren't there like 2 more units for Khand in the previous versions?

I have a question. Are seiges enabled in custom battles? because everytime i choose a settlement level, the game crashes.

In addition, i have been doing a lindon campaign and i put the settings to no auto manged settlements, but around turn 50 the auto mange setting seemed to turn on. How can i fix that to having no auto manged settlements?

Your not alone there Noldorian Archer, I experienced that problem too in custom battles, luckily I found a way around that, whenever you choose a settlement level, always choose fort first, nothing else matters, and from there on change to whatever culture you want, then you can finally play on the other settlement levels, beware though, some cultures I believe don't have certain settlement levels, like the Wildmen don't have anything above large town I think. Also, I can't help with that other problem.

@Arachir, I recognize what you've said about the imbalance in the game, but to be honest, it's playing fairly well so far, and I have such a unique problem that I don't think anyone else is going to bother doing what I've done to the EDB file. They will simply wait for the military reforms. Cheers.

About the fortress, though: I know very well that a citadel would look like a custom West Osgiliath settlement (it was the same even in vanilla TATW). However, does that mean upgrading a settlement to a fortress will somehow make it look like the ruins of West Osgiliath (i.e. Osgiliath before you have it rebuilt)? I haven't checked this out yet. That would certainly be a reason not to have fortresses, although I wonder how you got around that for the settlements of Cair Andros and Dol Amroth, which are the true fortress-style Gondor settlements as designed by Leo Civilis (and are also available in MOS).

Just finished my Dwarves of the Iron Hills and Erebor campaign marking it my first H/H long game completion ever, and boy it was fun.

After taking over the lordship of Khazad-Dum I began to gather a great strikeforce to escort Gimli(Who got the ring and had been fighting to save Edoras from a invasion for many a year with only 500 dwarves with him. At the end only 17 returned home with the mission successful.) to Mount Doom to destroy the ring. I gathered King Dain II, Gloin, many sons of King Dain II, Gloin, Thorin, and Gimli to and as governors and adjutants. I made each strike force special to represent where they were coming from. One Army came from Gundabad lead by the son of the Lord of Gundabad with five battalions of Hammers of Gundabad and Non-AOR troops. Another was comprised of Khazad-Dum Guards alongside several Orocani and Sons of the Fallen lead by Fimbur, lord of Khazad-Dum. Gloin was leading dwarves that came from Dain's Halls who main body of troops where Sons of the Fallen. The grandest army was lead by King Dain II the Champion and Great who had most of the Dragonslayers with him a number being his own legendary bodyguard alongside most of the Orocani host that had come from the East with numerous Erebor Axemen and with the very first Dale Auxiliary which had 9 chevrons and had almost 1300 enemies defeated to its name. Finally the Ringbearer Gimli himself had a force comprised of every manner of dwarf from the Misty Mountains and Eastward, this was to be symbolic in that this was the army that would destroy Sauron. There was also a fifth army but it was not as grand in that it had everyone's left over troops and would act as a support army. Overall there was 5 full army stacks totaling approximately 6,000 dwarves(Large Unit Scale, if it was huge it would probably be around 8,000.)

But in the mean time while the forces where assembling, Dale had captured even more of Rhun territory, Isengard was down to two territories, Gondor was taking the fight to the Shadow of Mordor very fiercely, and Dol Guldur was being besieged rather often. My rather erogenous gifting of great funds had a change in power that I did not expect to happen at this moment, in fact as my armies where heading to the Black Gate, Gondor went and surprised me, took Minas Ithil, Cirith Ungol, The Black Gate, Isenmouthe, and the Orc camp in about 10 turns, I was quite afraid that Gondor was going to take Mordor out before I got there. As such I sent the forces of Khazad-Dum to destroy Dol Guldur to force the Nazgul there to spawn for Mordor and began spawning for the first time in the campaign in total by the time I got there 120 units of 9 Chevron Mordor Orcs so I could have enough time to go through Rhun and come in from the rear because in no way I was going to attack Gondor. Then I came to a realization that I could try to buy the Black Gate from the Gondorians and sure enough I was able to buy both the Black Gate and Isenmouthe from them, so soon after the armies arrived in Mordor, I had to come to terms with my earlier actions.

I had to face about 60 out of the 120 trolls that I had spawned. That was not fun.
Especially since halfway there I sent King Dain II and Fimbur eastward to attack Rhun since I just finished eating several Mordor forces in the Gladden Fields, so as a result I was in Mordor with only Gimli and Gloin(and their liutenants) facing numerous trolls and 8 of the 9 Nazguls and other Uruks.
Gloin held them off while Gimli went to the arrow indicated and destroyed the ring.
Then the most saddest moment in the campaign happened, Gimli DIED!
Him and half of his forces were lost in the eruption of Mount Doom. The whole affect was quite amazing so congrats to that.
The death picture was so appropriate. And to make it worse the next turn there was the congrats to the dwarves and to the ringbearer who DIED.
Where were the damn eagles. T-T I loved Gimli the Just who had a maxed out Fear bar and had barely any negative traits.

After that I began buying lots of settlements with my extremely vast fortunes and finished of the Rhunnic people and won the game.

Now to wait for 0.51 to begin a new campaign.

Had a few bugs here and there.

You guys need to upgrade the look of Dwarven Bodyguards. Give them a plate armor and larger axes. Or two-handed axes. Bodyguards of Ered Luin looks very nice, as well as Khazad-dum bodyguards. But bodyguards of Erebor and Iron Hills need an upgrade. I know that you are planning to change the look of Dwarven Captain, and I agree to that. In patch 0.5 we need better dwarf bodygards. Even they look weaker then some elite dwarf infantry like: Sons of Fallen, Axes of Erebor and Orocarni nobles. And I cant wait to download this new hotfix! Great job guy!

Quite the epic campiagn dude! I see Gimli had maxed out fear for you as well? Do you remember when his fear maxed out? Because for me it happened very early and he literally had one negative fear retinue.

    Yeah I did enjoy it.

Gimli did max out his fear too early on. It was well before the barracks event so I am thinking about 20 turn-ish.
I noticed his high fear rating what after some fighting at Dain's Halls against some Misty Mountain orcs. Got that Orc Head retinue(+1 I believe. Gloin had the +2 fear.) as well, Gloin had it too but a different one. It could be that one of them could be bugged but my game is uninstalled right now and I can't be bothered to install it all over again to just check. I could take a peek when 0.51 comes out if no one else has at that point.

    How did your campaign go?

We have already fixed the menu in 0.5 that is why I am concerned. I think you will run into more difficulty down the line

No offence taken. Unfortunately though changing the music is hard and you will need to learn some pretty decent modding skills. There were more units for Khand but we decided to shave them off as they were unnecessary.

The United faction created Osgiliath so no worries. Gondor's Fortress does look like Cair Andros however if you play as Umbar, your fortress will look like Carn Dum. It is Citadel's and Huge Cities that bare most of the custom settlements.

Hahahahahaha! Gsthoed's script working nicely I see. It is folly to expect an army to survive the destruction of Orodruin! We are however looking into the Gimli Fear thing.
