I don't like the changes

The only thing that the new sidebar provided me as an information was to see that "dicks" is one of the popular searches.

I think the sidebar on the sub forum but not in threads is a good compromise, in the thread it was eating a 3rd of the page and looked terrible (although I'm apparently on the low end of TWC users resolution)

edit: although I am slightly concerned the popularity of searching dicks is apparently increasing

All these various sidebars and ads are taking a toll on my laptop (persistent lag, increased loading time, fan noise), similar to what happened last year before switching to the current vBulletin version.

Loading times may have increased by small amount but i didn't notice any of the effects you're mentioning. I checked this on my laptop as well and it was nothing like that.

I like the new changes.

I would have it more like TSR does, they have a left hand section on your profile where you know who you are being quoted from. Tapatalk has this and I'd like to see it on there.

I would suggest getting rid of the ads as they serve no real use.

I would suggest putting personal mod preferences to players who download a lot of mods because this is the ultimate total war modders site, personal reccomandations, something like that would be nice.

I would also use Tapatalk total war features to be put in the left hand corner so you at least know what's happening.

The latest change is great IMO. The bar is open when browsing lists of threads, but no longer present when viewing a specific thread. I think this really works perfectly!

While i dont mind it (though i admit, its gonna need getting used to), it could be a lot smaller.
But like suggested, button of turning it off, at least for some sections, would be perfect

Agreed, although the lack of margins either side of a thread will take some getting used to.

The technical staff should investigate who is behind that, if possible.
