    No, it does not change technology research times, growth rates, income, or anything of that nature: all of those are determined on a per-turn basis. Changing those would require access to the db tables.

    Yes, it slows down character aging, since that's tied to the in-game year rather than the turn number. That was the primary reason I created the mod, because I felt 1tpy absurdly aged characters during sieging, traveling, etc.

    Yes the age thing bothered me, but I hadn't even thought of it until I realized it was 240 BC and the army that had been founded in 277 was being led by the same guy, and saw he was nearing his 70s.

    Also, this pretty much eliminates Consuls or any sort of yearly offices.


    In your personal opinion, would 4tpy be in some way gamebreaking, either in terms of expansion or characters leveling, or would the only difference be in date and generals who survive battle?

    Well. 1tpy makes it difficult for a character to do much of anything before he dies unless you do nothing but constant fighting. On the other hand, it's possible 4tpy is a bit slow -- I've been using that and playing a sedate pace, preferring to wait out sieges etc but characters age much more slowly now and therefore will takes ages to qualify for office. It's possible 2 or 3tpy might be better than 4.

    Ok? I was looking for a mod like this yesterday and couldn't find one, because threads posted in General are buried and gone. Since I didn't find one, I did it myself and posted what I'd done so others could use it too. It's editing one number, so it's not like there's any great glory for having provided the mod :p

    Thanks for having a look into this guys, though I do have one comment. No-one should be "copyrighting" or "owning" minor mods like this.

    Though thousands of users appreciate the fact that modders have done this, you shouldn't be able to claim ownership of a mod that changes one value. It's these kind of ownership scuffles that can delay the overall modding effort. Let's just work together and be as informative and sharing with each other as possible!

    Yes it will, all these campaign mods will work on all campaign types, with all factions, except for the prologue!

    I agree, actually. That's why I don't mind if anybody does anything with "my" work -- if someone wanted to build on it for the good of the community, that's cool. I just feel it's courtesy not to release modified versions of someone else's stuff, just out of respect for the time put into it, even if it's nominal like changing a value or something.

    But I've provided instructions so that anybody can apply this mod to the Seleucid startpos themselves if they have an esf editor, so hopefully that helps.

    This is what I need to know as well. Also, do we think it's ever going to be possible to mod proper seasonal weather in, or are we stuck with CA's stupid system of eternal summer in the south and presumably eternal winter in the north? Seriously, whoever decided that 1 turn per year was a good idea needs a slap.

    Does this tweak affect the increase in unit size tweak ? The 2 or 4 turns per year works but the changes I did to increase unit size (as shown in the thread) don't seem to work.
