    I am working on making my first unique unit in the game, I have made most of the fils and I am still tweaking the colorsm need ot add the gladiatorial arm etc etc, .. I couln't find a proper cape to use over the arcani unit ( the one of the spy is part of the spy mesh so cannot e used )
    and I couln't get the secondary weapon to show up dunno why ...


    Bugs :


    1 The text doesn't appear when hoovering or clicking for a description

    2 The Icon is not represented and is not working couse the game is not accepting the custom made one

    3 Some minor animation issues for the secondary sword on dual wielding units

    2 the mod needs to be loaded as pack by mod manager or won't work as movie

    Installation:


    To install just unzip it in the Rome II data folder and load it with the Mod manager .


    Unit Abilities :

    Stealth
    Killing spree
    Fast advancment

    Its quite bad ass but its very small in numbers .

    It is available in custom battles as well as incampaign but from the level 3 Legion armoury on foward .

    To be fixed issues :

    I have included also the text files and the UI in the pack so if someone knows how to make them working without making the game crash let me know please ...

    Whenever I tried to modify and make recognize by the game the proper UI the game crashed on its selection while instead for the text it simply doesn't shows up .

    Arcani are not fantasy , are a ducumented paralmilitary group historically attested , on countrary of many other units in RTWII

    Their portray here is inspired to the fictionalized one of RTWI

    I liked them and I wanted to have ingame

    I made them in a separate pack so people can decide if like or not .

    Maybe dual swords? Also Rome 1 Arcani had a hood, so don't miss that.

    Couln't find a working hood , do you have any to sugest?
    Sual sword I am working on it , will als change the color tone of cuirass .

    so yeah....it'd be certainly an interesting unit when its done. anyways, i guess it's a good idea to add some historical sources to the first post. and maybe some depictions like mosaics or graffiti (if existing) to avoid a fanatic also i'm very keen to see some of their actions proven. as i'ver never heard or read about them in history books or any other reliable sources. i know them from rome 1 only

    Here is a new Preview ...

    The Bugs I found :

    1 if I change the Unit UI the game crashes no matter what and dunno how to solve it so it has to be witha custom icon gived by the game

    2 the mod needs to be loaded as pack by mod manager or won't work as movie

    3 the dual sword was not working for me as placing the second weapon in the shield slot make it invisible but now I fixed thanks to Lusted tip ...

    4 the sneak mode always present make the unit look very bad due to the stretching of the skirt that looks very ugly so I removed and made them normal units with a good generic sneak , heavy and a good spotting range .

    5 so far seems that the custom variant color editing is not working , I tried to give them all the black cape and all the red skirt of romans but also if I edited the file the game keeps giving them red and yellow stuff ...

    Opinions?

    Looks epic. You should, however, change the look for the officer. The current look makes him look generic.

    no ninja , they look bad with that ability , the only ninjas ingame are the german night hunters.

    I like your unit and the idea. I prefer the first image. The armor, sword and mask is good. I find a shield makes the Arcani to inflexible. In addition, the armor is already much protection. The unit is very good trained in close combat. Second the unit operates hidden and fast. They attacked from ambush. This looks more like a combat unit instead of a mysterious. Two swords are not possible but how about a bow? Perhaps primary a bow and the sword secondary. These are all just ideas. Just as the Ithilien Ranger in TATW. The bow makes the unit even more deadly. They could remain invisible by their field of view is highly. Furthermore, the Romans missing archers! Archers are important and perfect for a mysterious unit. Personally, I find this very noble and beautiful! Much player miss the archers
    Maybe my ideas are not good but I write them anyway...

    Ok I managed to fix the Color of capes, and I recolored also the tunics , that works only for the Arcani , the Officer I yet didn't get how to change its color and I don't get why he is not getting the crest I added for him ....

    Still to solve the remaining bugs are :

    About the stealth ability I dunno if to give them or not because

    those will be available to romans at level IV armoury of legion in campaign .

    I think that armour covering both arms would be really cool, maybe that armour (can't remember the name) that the Roman Champion have on the campaign map, that is made of metal plates lying on top of each other, instead of the padded cover and the scale cover.

    About the cape, I know the Praetorian Guard have a purple cape that is different from the base faction colors. You could check that unit and what makes it different. Also, black tunics would also be cool.

    Already fixed it , but the models from strat map are unique models not comboed, so I can't get pieces from there otherwise the first thing woudl have been the cape of the spy...

    Well done Prometheus! May I ask you how you got them to dualwield and using shield? How do the animations look like? I am still a bit confused with the variants and you seem to have good success in this regard

    Just replace the shield with a gladius , keep the reference to shield and slot 3 though .


    Mod Released , there are some final things that I wasn't able to make work like the Custom ui icon and the text appearing for description ... I have uploaded the data within the pack so if someone is able to fix let me know ...
