It's funny, I came to TWC because I was looking for mods and I stayed here because of YATS. Maybe we can get this started again?

I'd be very interested to be a part of this again. When I said I could be a moderator I was unemployed, but as of now I'm working full time and will be in school full time less than a year from now, so I can only participate as a player at this point.

In a means to help "guide" the game, in terms of OOC administration and oversight I was toying with the idea of developing a group that helped administrate portions of the game. Titling them "Senex" (Old wise men - insert joke here) and giving them the ability to "moderate" certain portions of the game to help alleviate the stress on one person.

In terms of vision for the game, I think keeping with the tradition of the game is entirely fair and proper, however I believe the emphasis on developing the game further should be something that we also discuss. At first, I was envisioning the opening offices to be as follows:

    Consul (2)
    Praetor (1)
    Tribune of the Plebeians (1)
    Quaestor (1)

Eventually, I would like to add a second Praetor and a second Tribune of the Plebeians.

In terms of in-game management, the Quaestor would be responsible naturally for the finances of the Republic and would be responsible for issuing yearly reports to the Senate. The Tribune of the Plebeians would be naturally responsible for causing havoc and veto---nevermind---would be responsible for representing the people in the Senate against Patrician dominance. The Praetor would serve as a temporary leader when the Consul's were out of Rome as well as the judge in any court cases held out of the game. The Consul's would naturally be the leaders of the Republic and would lead the campaigns of the Senate and the People of Rome as whole, and are in charge of a wide variety of things.

Eventually, when we get bigger, not if, because we are all going to make a strenuous effort to make this game alive again, I'd like add the position of Censor and perhaps Pontifex Maximus as more RP roles rather than anything serious.

I think adding the extra roles would be more fit as soon as we have more players.

If you guys are after a Roman-style forum RPG there is one over in the Play by Post RPG forum, Res Publica.

I'm sure they guys over there would love a few more players.

This is more than just an RPG, it also combines RTW gameplay to provide a source of narrative events and political changes, in a sort of AAR format. YATS is an old tradition we are now going to revive.

Has it really been 3 years since YATS was last active?

I don't know if anyone here remembers me, but I just happened to stumble back upon this page after a long time. I'm really shocked and pleasantly surprised to see actual interest in this game after so long. Really hoping you guys find some way to make it work.

No one here has been around long enough to remember you (I think) Winter. Still we know who you are from all the threads you authored, kind of like meeting YATS St Paul.

Well Winter is one of the group leads for the YATS permission group - now he is here it should be more simple for you guys to get this going again, if you so wish.

If there's anything I can do for you guys, you can let me know; I check TWC infrequently these days but I'll get back to you. I can't say that I'll participate in whatever you guys do here, though.

Well, that last attempt was poor and done at a time when a lot of bad things happened.

With Total War: Rome II seemingly stabilizing and things coming around. Would anyone be interested in a restart? It's summer time, a lot of us are off from school/graduating or what not? Please PM me and let me know.

Likely, unless it's decided otherwise by the members who are partaking this round.

I've got exams until early June, so I can't really do anything until then.
