You mean the oldest city which is still inhabited? It would probably be Constanta which was founded as the Greek colony Tomis.

Yeah but that's just a medieval city. Constanta has been inhabited ever since antiquity.

About oldest archeological sites there is stacks of them. From Dacian ruins, to Greek ones and Roman ones. You can find here a list of Dacian Davae. The most famous being the complex at Sarmisegetuza Regia. That place is amazing, haven't seen it personally but im fascinated by the complexity of the ancient architecture, especially the solar disk. Unfortunately, widespread archaeological theft means that many valuable artefacts from there have been dug out illegally and sold to private collectors.

I was reading somewhere that the Greek colony Histria is one of the oldest ancient cities in the country that actually still has standing structures.

But there are stacks of archaeological sites much earlier than that. For example the Cucuten-Trypillian culture is from around 5500BC to 2750BC or the Hamangia culture from around 5250BC to 4500BC. The famous. The famous Thinker of Hamangia is at the Bucharest musem. But you wouldn't see anything standing from that of course, it's all buried and being unearthead by archeologists.

Archeologically speaking, Constanta is the oldest one inhabited, on the site of the former Greek colony of Tomis.

Histria is the oldest colony, founded by colonists coming from Miletus, but the town is only a ruin now. It can be visited however because the excavations have unearthed a consistent urban organisation.

I hope that more sites get discovered in Romania, I'm sure there's dozens more temples scattered around and not yet unearthed.

There's going to be a new show on Sunday I think about a lost civilization, I'm pretty sure it's not in Romania, but the point is we've only scratched the surface of prehistory which I happen to believe is a lot more significant than people think.

I have to agree! The finds of Gobekli Tepe prove that the prehistoric age still has alot of hidden history waiting to be uncovered by us

For those interested regarding the celebration of Christmas in Romania, take a look over here - http://www.exploringromania.com/chri...n-romania.html

    Colindul - Carols' trail

    Dubasii - Drummers' band

    Steaua - The Star

    Capra - The goat

    Ursul - The bear

    Plugul - The plough

    Irozii, Vicleimul - Nativity Drama

    Sorcova
The first one is done only on Christmas and done by kids when they are young (from 7,8 years old up to even 20, or even more). A very fun experience.

That is Brasov, one of the main cities of Romania, so yes, around 250.000 people call it their home.

    I'll reply seriously to this

A studio can go for 20-30.000EUR but a good apartment in the centre goes from 50-60.000EUR upwards.
