Thread: Preview: Settlements of Middle-earth

    This really is very good. In fact, it is incredibly good.

    Amazing work!
    "When your opponent fears you, then's the moment when you give the fear its own rein, give it the time to work on him. Let it become terror. The terrified man fights himself. Eventually, he attacks in desperation. That is the most dangerous moment, but the terrified man can be trusted usually to make a fatal mistake."

    "I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

    yes, all settlements that are previewed are 100% finished and functional

    @the holy pilgrim
    pathfinding has not less nor more problems than vanilla settlements. Minas Tirith is obviously a bit harder for the AI, but doable. And there will likely be custom battles with those settlements.

    And besides, no one has really made the correct guess what the next settlement will be, but I think you'll like it...
    So Minas Tirith is included in campaign and custom!!!
    Please don't ask any more for this

    This is the best thing in TW modding ever!!! (or at least in M2TW modding) now someone has got to create ancient greece and rome cities (but that belongs somewhere else...)

    My guess for the surprise settlement:

    The black gate or Minas Morgul.

    @Erunion Telcontar,
    No. MT is classed as a huge city and so it has only one attackable gate, this was the only chance to give the AI a chance and to provide a challenge to the player.
    However, MT is still full of tight passages, which will make it always hard for the attacker, no matter if human or AI.
    And what about Fornost and Dol Amroth, not to speak of Osgiliath?

    To bad, it would have been fun to defend/attack all of the seven gates

    This is art! +rep
    Wanted for:
    Breaking and gluing back together and trying to pass off as never being broken in the first place.
    Assault with a weapon that couldn't have possibly been deadly, but unfortunately was

    "You know what they say: give a man a fish, and he'll stink up the whole town. Give a man a fishing rod -- see where I'm going here? Give him a fishing rod and he'll poke your eye out."

    Rep goes both ways, just leave your name
