Is there any way to smooth out the contour? It looks kind of jagged on the soft materials.

    Nice results, guys.

@Sevasti: Well, you can use the eraser tool with a small brush to remove some of the jagged pieces. However, it is indeed a somewhat tedious job and might well take a while. You could also try duplicating your object's layer to make the outline sharper and smoother. But despite that, your second try looks very good already. For signatures, avatars and wallpapers it will be edited further or possibly even scaled down anyway so I wouldn't worry too much.

I zoomed in to 800x and lassoed it after clearing out internal spaces. Then i pasted and anchored it onto an alpha background for transparency.

It is my great honour to have my poem Farmer in the Scriptorium here.

Yeah, I actually used the eraser fade option in my first attempt but it was like you said, tedious. Thanks for the tip about the double layers, it did make a nice difference.

If you'll look closely, I have a knight atop my Giganotosaurus. Anyway, I think everybody that is going to do the lesson has done it. I'd never thought I'd say this, but I want more lessons!

As NLegari pointed out, more lessons will fellow soon. The second lesson is almost ready and should begin within the next few days (Friday at the latest). However, be prepared that it will be significantly bigger than the first one.

Here is the list of all students who have successfully finished this lesson so far. Simply tell me in case I've forgotten you.

    Either way, good job guys.

SOrry for the late submission, just got back from holidays and been busy with RL stuff!

I couldn't find the colour to transparency option in the layers menu so I was left with using the lasso tool, although I think I did a pretty good job of the outline considering some of the image was blended with the background !
