Conquer a province, give it to him as a gift and finally take Rome, if you are lucky they will live in the first province..
or, if your faction is making money hand over fist, you can gift the pope multiple provinces (at least 3 IIRC) and buy Rome (Papal relations must be positive for this to work)
For Example: request a Crusade to ,say Vilnius, devote 2 or 3 stacks to the Crusade, but send the other stacks to say Riga and Reval on the way, remembering to use the General you want to get the good traits for to take the Crusade target. Attack all 3 in the same turn if you can, and use your diplomatic embassy to the Vatican (you DO have a diplomat in Rome, don't you?) to "gift" the lands to the Pope, thus creating the Magna Sancti et Catolice Ordo Balticum Papalis. (the most holy order of the Baltic papacy)
then buy Rome when the AI changes the Capitol to raise PO, you may pay a lot, but can neatly avoid the whole Catholic world turning on you, if you are not a Catholic faction, then just kill the old barstid and deal with the aggression, it's not like the Catholics won' t turn on you anyways.
