Okay that would limit me to only playing the Empire and Karl Franz.
I cant identify with Baltasar Gelt because he is an Magican and Magic doesn't exist.

Do realy believe you can identifiy yourself with an Orc Warboss or Dwarf King, Chaos Lord, Beastmen Chieftain or Vampire Count?

By the way Total War series is a Strategy Game not an RPG

Well don't be to fast you are!
You have to know the histories of warhammer and games-workshop.
GW starte out by selling D&D books, but later on wanted to create their own game.
Which became warhammer, which was a rpg with units and monsters.

The game evolved by time to what we have today 8th edition.
It is not much of a rpg compared to the first version, but players are still encourage to roleplay.

It was at the start, it was a mix of RPG and Strategy, and had a few RPG elements in the end.

I mean I play a lot of Dungeon Saga with my friends, and we sit and lay strategic plans for each room.

In my opinion Warhammer TW, just like all of the previous Total War games, ignores women and the role they play(ed) in the historical/fantasy settings.
It doesn't hurt to ask/remind about this from time to time.

I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier to any of the posts but I was away, and only just caught up on them. Thanks for moderating this thread and for all the replies. I think the game would be overall better with a little bit more women's representation

    I was really hoping for a female Vampire legendary lord ; n ;
Plenty of influential female figures in the WH universe. Here's some reading:

    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...kia_the_Bloody

    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Morathi

    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Alarielle

    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi..._the_Ice_Queen

Obviously she's a fantasy analog for Catherine the Great, so she satisfies both requirements being at once historical and fantastical.

    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Khalida_Neferher

    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...a_von_Carstein

eetc etc. All of these are for factions that either haven't been released yet, or are soon to be expanded upon. Anyway, seeing as the game was only recently released and is getting new DLC every 3 weeks, maybe you shouldn't start making grand pronouncements about the game ignoring women.

Honestly this needn't be a burning issue, if people started pushing for changes to the lore then obviously that's going too far, for e.g. calling it Tomb "Monarchs" instead of Tomb Kings, but nobody is asking for that.

Even if they just used 1 female legendary lord per faction it would be less boring. The Empire could (and should, on a matter of Lore not politics) have Emanuelle von Lieberwitz.
Valkia the Bloody for a Khorne character if they have a chaos Gods DLC / minicampaign in the wastes, and as people have said you could have Transgender / IDKWTF Slaaneshiis
Morgianna le Fay enchantress for Brets = easy
Khalida for Tomb Kings, Isabella von Carstien since they've brought Vlad back from with a powerful magic ritual involving DLC cash
Lucrezia Belladonna for Tilea, and no doubt some Queen of Estalia since Estalia is like union of crowns Aragon & Castille
For the likes of Skaven Beastmen, Lizardmen and Orcs, there is really no point and it would just look silly
    Elves, tons of them
So yeah, shoehorning in new stuff to tick a box would be bad, but accidentally choosing to leave out certain parts of the Lore out and create a male count of Wissenland to avoid making a different model is not great either.

You forgot to mention the Dwarves

I guess the problem is not that they couldn't create a DLC with Female Legendary Lords
or that the lore doesn't allow to create a female Legendary Lord
I guess the problem is that the big majority really don't care.
The most people wouldn't buy such a dlc because it adds female leaders
but because of the new content, the sex of the leaders doesn't matter at all.

If only the people would buy the DLC who care about the sex of the Legendary Lord, than there wouldn't be much sales of that DLC
They will creat DLCs that have high sales potential and "Gender Issues" isn't something that creates high sales.

As ironic as it may sound, the world of Warhammer is not exactly as gender exclusive as you may think. Even among the Stirnerian Norscans, women occasionally play a lead role, for example as Shield Maidens and in some cases even leading warbands. Although extraordinarily rare, it happens often enough to warrant Valkia being a kind of example of such rather than the sole exception, and some books and codici hint at other similar individuals. The Empire is remarkably progressive in that end - apart from several Empresses in history, one of the current elector counts is a female. Unless I'm mistaken, the chief minister of Law in the Empire (a member of Karl Franz's cabinet of ministers) is a woman. High and Wood Elfs largely feature a sort of social gender equality and Dark Elf society has gyneocratic elements. Kislev is currently ruled by a female Tsarina. So obviously women play a big role in lore, without necessarily being part of some kind of "feminist agenda" or a consequence of teenage chauvinism.

I have clarification for these two factions. Ogres have males and females but they look similar enough that only an ogre or someone very familiar with ogres would be able to tell them apart by site. However there is an ogre type called Maneaters who imitate what they find most impressive in other races when they travel. Naturally tabletop players are heavily customize these models to make their own unique ogre world traveller, but there were several premade maneaters, such as ogre ninjas and pirates. One of these premade maneater models was dressed up as a human housewife because he saw a woman beating her husband with a rolling pin and thought it was the best thing ever. So he fights with a rolling pin the size of a tree.

As for orcs the fungus thing comes from 40k and only applies to orks. In fantasy there are women orcs but again you couldn't tell unless you were an orc yourself.

Only bloodbowl had female orcs as cheerleaders, which is an alternate reality. 8th edition confirmed they are spawned by spores and are actually related to 40k orks due to their spores clinging to the Old Ones silver vessels when they shaped the old world. It's mentioned in their armybook, Snarsnik's novel and a Bretonnian short story.

Being exposed to the warp and other dimensions very likely caused the orcs to be a mere fraction of the threat that the galaxy destroying orks are.

    Welcome to the forum, btw.

Ah; I remember those models now! Bit of passing interest when the faction got their 8th edition update (didn't pay much more since I was big into 40k at the time).

And Cyanide made the right call when they replaced them with Orc Drummers when they first turned Blood Bowl into a video game (now if they'd get on and add race-specific cheerleaders to the sequel...).

Now with the Wood Elves we got Female Lords not Legendary but Female... and somehow it doesn't make any diffrence.

I'm fairly certain they'll still be complaints even when Bretonnia's Fey Enchantress LL gets released.

"yeah, she's a female LL but she's on the human faction which is bland and unimaginative. You'll only get my money when you accommodate the community with a non-human female LL, CA!"

    After Elven female LL.

"Wtf?? Why isn't she undead?! Totally unplayable! "

    I guess you are right,
Especially when you consider that this week the UN dumped Wonder Woman as UN ambassador after 2 month because that female feminst superhero comic figure is to sexy and white...

I thought after the OP made such a big fuzz about it I thought it would feel more empowering to have female Lords

Did you ever watch "Kingdom of Heaven" and hear Saladin's comment that Jerusalem was worthless but was worth everything?

    Basically that.
