We haven't really discussed it, but I'd say a few, just like there's a few trolls per unit rather than just 1.
Probably 12 to 24 if they're a suicide bomber unit, or like 120-ish if they're an infantry unit.

Why should there be 1 or few berserkers? Where did this idea come from? It will be normal unit size for appropriate tier.

With suicide bomber units you mean those with bombs and torches that we see in the "Two Towers"? If not thats my next question, do you consider or is it even possible to have such "bombs" as the one we see in the movie which breaks the Deeping wall?

Dunno, we haven't really decided beyond checking out a video of a suicide bomber unit another modder managed to make.

Imo for Helm's Deep it'd be cool if the bombs were placeable siege engines, like battering rams or something and then they could be triggered by a berserker with a torch but I've got no idea whether it'd be possible.

Well, in the movies we see them as shock troops and never really acting as units.
I´d imagine a similar role as Doppelsöldner, to create havoc in the enemy lines,
with little regard for their lives by their general.

They´d be rather vulnerable to missile fire, so concentrating them makes them an easy target.
Thus, making units of normal size for them doesn´t really make sense IMO.

They grabbed on walls and were almost same separated from each other as any other uruks who climbed on the wall. We didn't see their formation and organisation.

That´s true, but by looking at their equipment we can think about what would be a logical depiction for them.
As I said, since they´re unarmoured, having them bunched up into one big unit just makes them an easy target for missile troops.

Additionally, since we only see them for the first few scenes during the battle, we can assume that there were only a small number of them available.

So IMO smaller units you rush into a suicidal bid to break through your enemy´s front line make more sense.

Or maybe you could add them into sword units as 3rd officer?
How many officers can you add into units in Attila?

Smaller units make even less sense taking game mechanics into consideration. Few unarmored dudes will be slaughtered by arrows in no time, unless they are made more resistant to the arrow fire as in the scene with Legolas.

Hmm, you´re right, but if you hold them behind your lines and let them attack just before the lines clash, you can spare them being shot to death^^

Furtermore, if they´re part of other melee units like Swordsmen, we would have them in the game, and account for their small numbers in the film, and it would make pseudohistorical sense

Would you know where a 3rd officer would be in a unit?

I'm pretty sure all 3 officers stand in the same place, eg at the front or at the back.
I'd be in favour of Berserkers being unbalanced units, smaller unit size than normal and extraordinary stats. Thats how they are in Third Age Total War I think, and it worked well.

Good news, folks, the changes to the Isengard roster have been previewed!
Saruman's army has been expanded with a tier 4 unit and many tier 1 units. And a hidden surprise.
Have fun with it guys, start looking forward to playing with them. I am at least, great though that I am a tester too muhaha
