Default "Roots of Japan" Unit Pack 1.4b

    "Roots of Japan" Unit Pack.
    Version: 1.4b

    What is this mod?
    - It's a unit pack for the "ROTS" campaign of Shogun 2.

    Only adds units?
    Nop. This mod adds:
    - 32 new units.
    - 6 new daimyos to the clan selection's screen.
    - Scabbards for all genpei units.
    - A fix for the "green monk's staff" issue.
    - The new "Real Armies" feature.
    - A fix for the "units with vanilla stats when start a new campaign" bug of darthmod (only darthmod version, and only for ROTS campaign).

How many units add this mod?
    - This mod add 32 new units. Some of them are new and others replace original units with unique versions.

What is the "Real Armies" feature?
    - When you move an unit in the campaign map without a general, the "representative unit" of that army is always the same soldier. The "Real Armies" change that. Now, if you only have a levy in that army, the "representative unit" is a levy. If you have a monk, it will be a monk. An there are variations even between the same type of unit. But remember, this feature only works in units of this pack or in the vanilla game. It doesn't work with units of other mods. Here is an example of what do this feature:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

It's this another "All type of units with all weapons" mod?
    - Nop. Almost all of the units of this mod are "unique", only recruitable by certain clans or with diferent uses, making the campaigns with diferent clans a bit more unique.
What kind of units did you make?
We improve the strong poins of the clans:
    - For Fujiwara Kubota, a clan with better monks, we make more unique monks and change the generals to fit with the monks's theme.
    - For Fujiwara Hiraizumi, an economical clan, we make a new unit that improve represion and some heavy sword units (like nodachis), because the are the predecesors of the Date clan.
    - For Minamoto Kamakura, we improve samurai with bows, with new and unique samurai units.
    - For Minamoto Kiso, we improve melee combat of samurai, with new and unique samurai units.
    - For Fukuhara Taira, the clan in the goverment of japan and experts in naginata, we make generals more protected, and more naginata and nagamaki units.
    - For Yashima Taira, we make more protected generals, and a unique very powerfull ship.

    And the units are....
    - Here you have the units:

Hello, would you be willing to implement these wonderful units to the Original Shogun 2 campaign (sengoku era)? ROTS is pretty empty in the modding section, so these would benefit alot more for the modded shogun 2 campaign.

Or maybe make a different pack of units for Sengoku campaign ?

    Thx!

In a first moment, we plan to make 3 unit packs, one for every campaign, and we start with gempei campaign because it's the less modded part of the game and because rots only have 20 land units and 8 ships. It's ridiculous compared to others campaigns.

So don't worry, It would be 2 units packs more in the future, but first we want to "finish" this part, with a darthmod version, fixes for balance issues, new features... And don't worry, the units of the new packs will be diferents to those, we don't want to recycle units.

Hey, could you make the "Real Armies" feature standalone in another mod? I mentioned such a proposal in this thread.

That's because this mod add units to ROTS campaign and, if you have FOTS Standalone, you don't have some files from vanilla shogun and ROTS that this mod need.

The FOTS game has ROTS included and it can be played in the campaign. Might be the version of the patches.

This mod works with the last version of the game (1.1.0 5934), and we don't support other versions. The problem you have is related with an animation that this mod doesn't use, but is included in the modified animation table included in the mod. So.... update your game. And I didn't know you can have ROTS without vanilla.......

FOTS comes with both vanilla and ROTS. Cause ROTS is viewed as a patch on game construction level I think.

Nop. ROTS is integrated in vanilla files, and FOTS have some unique files. But FOTS standalone version doesn't have some files of vanilla and ROTS. So, again, update your game.

And the Gold version (allthough I don't have it) ? Why should it miss any file ?
