More differentation and variety between the ingame factions by more faction specific, historical authentic units, buildings, religions etc...

Historically I've used and do use mods mainly to change the era/setting of the game. A close second was for improved historical accuracy. I do also agree with everything Carmen Sylva has said here. Mods really are amazing, no matter if it is a massive overhaul or a small aesthetic mod. Keep up the good work modders!

Variety of reasons. Most of them named in polls, but there's one thing not mentioned. Overall improved quality.

This type of poll would be cool to have multiple votes for, since most people will have multiple reasons for using mods.

Pretty much this. The original Rome: Total War is a terrible game. Roma Surrectum 2 mod is pretty much a brand new game. To make a comparison, it's like going from Empire: Total War to Napoleon: Total War. Even that comparison doesn't do it justice since the Roma Surrectum II mod is a much bigger jump in quality, bug fixing, etc. I could say the same about most well-received and popular overhauls. Modders fix what the developer literally can't, since they have different goals. This is why modding tools are so important, especially for a franchise like Total War where 95% of the experience is in single player or Co-Op.
