    Default Starting settlements

    Hi there
Great MOd may I say ! Im making some small adjustements for my own personal us. Im making mongols, timurids (with one single starting settlement each, on the steppe), English and Templars as the only playable factions, but I want to move the Templars starting settlement from their castle in torgua (or whatever its name is) , to either Cyprus or Malta, my problem is I cant find figure out how to find the map coordinates to place the starting characters/armies. I have seen the thread to use the console fuction, but I cant get it to work (me being daft Im sure).

Does anyone know the map coordinates for either cyprus or Malta

    Many thanks#

    Hi TheFirstONeill,

First of all, thanks for the feedback!
The coordinates for Cyprus settlement are 241/65, I can't give you coordinated for Malta, since this not an own province.
However, there is a tricky way how you see the game coordinated from the map_regions.tga file:
    - convert the .tga to a .bmp file
    - open the bmp file with paint
    - go to "image" and click on rotating/reflecting ( I translated from the German options, so it may be called a little different in English..)
    - Then rotate the image 180 degrees.
    - click on "rotating/reflecting" again and reflect the whole image horizontal.

Now you can i.e point your cursor over the settlement of a region and read the coordinates which are displayed at the bottom.

    I hope this was helpful...

thanks so much, that worked perfectly. I have tried a number of mods, and I have to say yours is my favourite by far, really captures the flavour of the crusade age. I mad a mod for MTW I called Avalon that followed a simliar (tho much simplier) line.

In the little mod Ive made for MTW2 the minor factions Aztecs, Mongols, Timurids, Templars (and English just as a patriot LOL) are playable. Have modded win conditions so Templars have to take Juruselm, Constantinaople and the Aztec Capital, and wipe out the french. The mongols have to take Juruselm, Constantinaople , and Rome, and wipe out the timurids, The timurids have to Juruselm, Constantinaople , and Rome, and wipe out the mongols. Aztecs have to take Rome and wipe out the spanish (lol)

Have given the Mongols, Timurids one simpe settlement each on the steppe and two full stacks. Templars are moved to Cyprus with a castle and one stack. Aztec retains there starting armies and settlements.

Thanks for your help, and for the wonderul piece of work that Stainless Steel is.

    Thanks
