Need some help!

I'm having trouble continuing the game from the Faction selection screen. When I press the arrow to start my Imperial campaign it just reverts back to the New Game screen. I'm not sure if this could be the cause, should there be a UI file present in the Rome Total WAR data folder, I show no UI file in the data folder only in the packs file. In a previous thread I had read that the UI file in the packs U_1pak contained a Data file that had to be moved to the RTW data folder and also that the DataRs had to be copied into the moved UI folder. Also in packs the U_1.pak had to be changed to U_1.old. Could this be the reason why my game isn't working right. I know that I have installed everything correctly and also AUTOSAVE:FALSE. 1.10 hotfix I have also installed. Please help!!!

I had the same problem, I'll help:


First go to 'software', remove Rome total War. When removed go to to your program files wich are under C: look for a map cald 'sega' 'the creative assembly' or 'activision', i you find one of these remove them by hand, as they can contain some RTW game elements.

Second, reinstal RTW, update it to 1.5, instal Roma Surectum, update it to v1.10, then run the NEW_UI.BAT file (press return when they ask press any key, then A, return again when they ask press any key, then A again) you will see a bunch of files installed by now then instal the new Hotfix.

Final: You are now ready to play...

Also make sure you install RS into your Rome Total War folder, not the /data folder. The new_UI.bat file is in the main folder not the /data folder.

Thanks for the help, but I'm just confused why I have no problem playing the custom battle portion of the game and not be able to play the imperial campaign. I had no problem with this game before the patch 10 came out but since the day I tried installing it I haven't played RS. I have removed the game many times and reinstalled and have done what you have suggested but to no avail. I really enjoyed playing this game but its got me so frustrated that I feel like giving up on it. I have many other mods installed on my system and I seem not to have any issues installing and playing those mods.

I had the same problem, but can't for the life of me remember what I did. Can you list what you've tried?

Uninstall, then manually delete the Activision folder in your Program Files, THEN reinstall? Install mod, patch, run New_UI.bat?
