Unless you want to limit this thread to the announcement of the CTD you better give more informations. Like what mod are you using, what version, if there are any mini mods on top, what troops were involved, when exactly did the CTD happen, if you have -show_err enabled and if there was any message.....
That sort of things.
Hello,
Sorry.![]()
I have the Xtended Realism mod only, with its' most recent patch.
The CTD started as soon as the loading screen was done loading!
No messages showed. Just the CTD.
No more info other than that sorry.

I dont have what new units are included in Xtended Realism mod ,byt probably this CTD is becouse of some sprites.If they have some new units(which are not from RTRPE) go to DMB and delete lines for sprites of that new units, or yust add ; before them....
Also you should try deleting the map.rwm file again.
Hello all,
@MacedOn:
Where is this DMB located specifically?
@Florin:
Delete which map.rwm specifically?
Thanks gents, hellas1![]()
It is located in Rome - Total War/data
but I advise you nikt to mess with it if you don`t know what you are doing. A problem with sprites like Macedonn suggested happens when you have an incorect or buggy set of sprites for a certain unit. It consists in a CTD that will not happen in the first battles but usually in the second or maybe even third.
You did not mention if you`ve been able to play any battles after you`ve installed the mini mod so I suggested to delete the map.rwm file. If it is not the proper one it crashes the game after the battle loads IIRC(before it gets on the map).
Or simple double click the "campaign_map_reset.bat" batch file that will automatically delete them for you. The batch file is located in the same folder where you have the game`s .exe.Delete your map.rwm file found in:
* c:\RTW\data\world\maps\base
* c:\RTW\data\world\maps\campaign\base
* c:\RTW\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign
They can be in all or in only some/one of those places.
