Sorry if you are offended by the title, I chose it as a counter to the Westboro Baptist Church.

I despise televangelists and "Sunday-morning Christians" who are self-righteous and claim to speak the word of God. They claim God wishes the distruction of a certain group, most notably homosexuals, but at various times anyone. To me this is one of the greatest disruptions of Christianity I see. Why can't they get it through their measely thick skulls that God is omni-benevolent. This means he loves everyone.

Christians are ordered to imitate Christ, and I can't remember the last time Christ said that he hates anyone. He had gotten angry, but he also tells one to love thy enemies. Christ even stood and defended the prostitute from stoning. Let me elaborate on this. That story had a purpose, it is not for humans to decide what God hates and how God must punish whom. God decides how each person is judged. The Pat Robertson/Fred Phelps crowd is like the mob who ordered Jesus to order the stoning of the prositute. The PR/FP crowd is trying to tell God who to punish and who to hate, but like the crowd they have a reckoning to come.

Hopefully I have made sense, if not try to make a discussion anyway.

That is not what "judge not, lest ye be judged" means. Awareness of ones inadequacies (which) I am not sure if you are, is not the qualifier. The qualifier is that God is the judge and only He is in a position to judge anyone. I am surprised that you didn't know that...being so familiar with scripture and all. There is something wrong with judging people. In doing so, you claim to be above those you are judging...that, my friend, is blasphemy (if you care about that sort of thing). Generally when people judge other peoples behaviour it comes down to satisfying inadequacies real or percieved (sometimes subconscious) within themselves.
