Finally, the first chapter is complete!
I´ll copy the "rules" of my previous AAR:
- Difficulties Very Hard/Very Hard
- Only armies inside Towns to be Light infantry, each time I capture a city I´ll create a governor/proconsul and train 3-5 light infantry. Armies like Legions can only enter cities to be retrained, only Legion that may enter Latium is the Republican 1st Legion.
- There will be two consuls in my faction (faction leader - faction heir). Even if it isn´t historically accurate (as consuls were elected each year) it is better to do this than to create an Early empire. Consular Legions will be VE I and VE II until Marian reforms. To be appointed consul the family member must be at least 35 years old and have 5 influence.
- All adoptions will be accepted for narrative sake.
Chapter 1: The Conquest of Italy
The Year is 280 B.C. and Rome is in turmoil. Pyrrhus of Epirus landed a massive army near Tarentum, and is threatning Rome with his most Elite forces.
The Senate decides that the moment for action is now, and sends both their Consuls, Tiberius Maxentius and his son Aulus Maxentius. Tiberius leads the Republican I legion of Rome, and Aulus commands the Republican II legion of Arretium. They decide that, before taking any action against Pyrrhus´ mighty army, they must "convince" the other Italian provinces to support them, so both Consuls launch an all out assault on Cannae, controled by the Apulian Rebels.
