Default Sequels you want to see.

Since Starcraft 2 is coming that is what made me create this post. One game that i've always wanted a sequel to was Alpha Centauri, and i want a real proper sequel to Master of Orion 2.

There are many other games, like RPGs for example, that I would like to see sequels to as well. Like maybe a Might and Magic, Wizardry, or hilariously a Darklands (old microprose rpg) or Starcontrol sequel.

I've been waiting for Fallout 3 for a while as well but it just annoys me when new companies buy out out game for just the title and then drastically change the gameplay. Or the publisher decides to get new developers for the game. I doubt this will happen to fallout as Bethesda said that they are making it true to the past game but it has happened before in Master of Orion 3 and Deus Ex 2.

One things for sure though, I want more strategic rpgs like Baldurs Gate and Planescape Torment. I'm tired of all the new Bioware games being Diablo ripoffs.

Duke Forever - Come on! It is forever developing is it?

Half-Life 2 Episode series - another game keeps players waiting, I hope they keep the promise this time.

Brother in Arm series - greatest WWII FPS, ten times greater than Call of Duty series.

StarCraft:Ghost - another forever postpone, Blizzard should really try to get this game out.

C&C series - another great game, hopefully see more action of NOB in future.

Games that I don't want to see sequels:

Call of Duty - enough is enough, I am tired to play MoH in better graphic.

That is going the way of Warcraft Adventures.

Knights of the Old Republic III: done well not like KotOR II which was rushed
That would be nice, unfortunately I think Atari has the rights to Star Wars and bioware is making sure they are not associated with them anymore.

    Some fast thoughts.

No One Lives Forever 3 - by Monolith

    Red Alert 3

    New Jagged Alliance

New Close Combat - Just like it was but now in 3D, I'm thinking a Red Orchestras realistic approach. Last CCs tried it and I'm all for it, so you move troops and deploy them on a tactical map.

True sequel for Rainbow Six: Raven Shield - Hell... it's about time for real tactical shooter for PC. I'm not sure what Red Storm is anymore today but they should do that.

Tie Fighter Alliance, I loved X-Wing alliance, which was the best space sim ever made. Make me an Imperial one!
EDIT Almost forgot Freespace 3. If you want a hectic space sim then play freespace 2 with multiple fighters and capital ships involved.

A new Elder Scrolls with a Napoleonic theme, more muskets and frills than swords and shields.

I agree with that too, something in Africa or Russia again, maybe the Pacific? I have A Bridge Too Far, Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge and honestly I love the top down thing but there is massive room for improvement.

Have you ever seen Arcanum? It's not as good and it's not first person, but it is good for what it is. You have that choice between magic and technology. Actually, I would like to see a second Arcanum come to think of it.

I was going to say Arcanum, right from when I read the topic title. It was such an amazing game, and I played it compulsively around the time I got into TFC.

On second thoughts though I don't want to see a sequel. I want to see something new, fulfilled, thought-provoking and fun. Not EA Games Rehash No. 89. Now that I think of it I can't recall a sequel which I've been happy with;- all the games I've gotten into (Shogun, Half-Life, Day of Defeat, Arcanum, Black and White and Mount and Blade spring to mind) have never been improved on by sequels except in graphics. Even Morrowind, although a sturdy game, didn't have that extra little something for me.

Then again it may just be a trend in the games industry over time - as the amount of money needed to make a polished product the ability of the designers to perfect the gameplay and style of the product decreases. I remember the chapter in The Backroom Boys in which the author recounts the creation of the first Elite game, and how two people were given free reign over their creation. How things have changed.

A sequel for Alpha Centauri. I think Alpha is one of the most underrated games out there, I mean it is a solid game fun and entertaining. After Beyond the Sword I got my money ready for Alpha Centauri 2, but this time Sid should actually do something or maybe it is better without him like it was with Civ III & IV.

Wait you don't have The Russian Front? I think it has best looking maps in the series. I was thinking of a modeling whole front's on the strategic map but after thinking about it maybe it's too much. I mean after all there wasn't that much units in the fight, so it wasn't that realistic after all. But I think that last two Close Combats was heading for right direction with implementing the strategic map. There should definitely be a top down view (that way it's easy to control all your units), but I want to get closer to my units and see them fighting in 3D. Damn these games are realistic, they are slow in a realistic way and morale is implemented, your units panic after seeing too much of blood and loosing your teammates. Also you could see hand-to-hand combat and there is a shock effect, under fire soldiers become pretty much useless.

Oh I forgot, a sequel to Dreamfall: The longest journey.
A game that ended way too soon story-wise.

A sequel to Diablo 3 would be very hard to do.

That's kinda what I was thinking... but I'm sure there should be more evil lurking about now that the world stone is corrupted and shattered... there's always something to fight in the good vs. evil universe.

Yeah, I'm sure another Arcanum would be disappointing when you put it that way... I think we just need a new game really.
