Do you follow the religion of your parents/family?

I don't I lost my religion when God would not help me find a pencil when I was eight, but what of you? Are you one of the many brainwashed believers, pummeled into believing by years of preaching by your parents? Or did you "find the light"?

I am Greek Orthodox Christian by birth and by belief. My father follows the religion closely but my mother doesn't.

I think it's a natural progression.
Of course, some people have "blind faith" and since they've been fed with it since they day they were born, it stays imbedded in the middle of their brain.

No. Both parents atheist/agnostic (as far as I could tell, though curiously my dad tried to tell me recently that he was a Christian, even though he himself says that he doesn't believe in God). I first of all became a Christian (one who believes in God), and what's more is that I shifted to Greek Orthodoxy, despite the fact that my parents came from a Church of Scotland background.

I think academic truth and the preservation of different viewpoints of information is essential, and that anything that claims absolute knowledge is not only dangerous, but the zenith of all that is evil and wrong with the control obsessed organized religions of man

but I am very steeped in catholic dogma and I would just be lying if I didn't admit that sometimes I go to church and pray - only traditional churches however

I also carry a rosary everywhere and would likely freak out if I ever found myself without it

father was parentless, raised by catholic nuns (clichéd as that sounds ) and my mother was raised a protestant, but neither particularly follows the faith. both do believe in god, or the idea of god, however.

i do not believe in christianity or god but i think the bible is actually quite a well-written novel (lol plz dont attack me for that, it is but my opinion); i am actually more inclined to believe in the pagan gods that embodied different aspects of life and the earth...such as a god that embodies anger, or farming, or a personality of some kind. that makes more sense to me than an omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent 'being'.
