As with all the threads I begin, there's little danger of derailing, unless you change the topic to sports or something equally mundane, and there is no right or wrong answer. If you wish to debate another post, great, but no slamming each other, no matter how absurd you think anothers' idea is.
My question is this:
What do you think is going on? What exactly is happening to us, where are we going and where did we come from. What is making us do the things we do. What and why are we?
Essentially, I would like everyone's philosophical world and existence view.
Be not afraid here. Give your ideas and beliefs without fear of mockery or discrimination. Whether you are a creationist, athiest, 'scientist', whether you believe we were seeded here millennia ago by aliens, whether your are a Buddhist, discordianist, satanist. All your beliefs are important to this thread. Nothing is to be considered absurd or immature, and any threads insulting your beliefs, I will ask the mods to remove. So without fear, please, offer your personal spiritual/philosphical world view. Your thoughts are relevent and valued by me.

Ha! I don't know if you're teasing me or not, Redirflow. A bit about me, I'm a man of the woods, and spend most of my free time there. I live on one of the last places on earth that still has a sustainable echosystem with clean water and abundant flora and fauna, though it's being encroached upon, sadly. I'm undecided on what we're doing here. Is it just a long string of coincidences? Were we put here by a greater power? If so how did the greater power get here and what's its purpose? Is everything already predetermined based on newton's laws of motion, or is there free will as suggested by quantum mechanics? Who makes our decisions if we're just meaty robots? Are we any more than meaty robots?

not explicitly no, but it does show that everything is based on a probability of something happening, rather than a definite outcome. Classically (not using quantum mechanics), if you knew the exact position and momentum of every particle in the universe you could predict the exact future of every particle, thus showing that things are predetermined. Quantum mechanics shows that this isn't the case.

One thing though: Please refrain from posting rebuttals, as this thread is meant to be a haven for those who wish to make postulants without fear of their ideas being squashed. There are several philosphical bents that have majority believers in them, and alternate things seldom get heard or get ridiculed, so it would be nice to have a thread that is as welcoming and open minded as possible. Of course, the more established beliefs are wholly welcome also, and can post without fear of an opposing belief system rebutting them. Instead, you could pose your disagreement as a questions, or simply not post in response to it, but place your own view of things.

I can't wait to hear it, LG! I'd mentioned to another member who works with children that the patience and communication required for such a task deserves the highest admiration and respect. People who care for children, and those in need are indeed a blessing upon this earth.
