has anyone got xenophobia to work with TLR?
I think by adding new factions messes up the original order of the faction
now th english is speaking italian etc
i think i might have got this to work, by just editing the sm_faction.txt

Same Problem with the german version of MW2.
I have tried it several times as it is explained at the xenophoniaforum.
Is it possibel to start the batchfile of LR with the Xenobatchfile together by modifying the lwbatch with an additional command? i am to stupid to make the rigth change myself. It schould be: --iofirst_file or something similar.
Sry for my english:-)

TLR 1.9 has some sound problem but once that is fix. It should work.
I tested it on 1.8 and it work perfectly. As for new factor, yes it probably won't support the new factor. Thus they probably might speak English.
If anyone is able to get it to work, let me know.
I may try at some point if I have time.

Yeah, it works....
Add:
medieval2.exe --io.file_first @Long Road.cfg
and then copy the complete new Sound Folder, which was created by installing Xeno with the languagepacks, from
D:\Medieval II Total War\Data\Sounds ***to***
D:\Medieval II Total War\Long Road\Data\
exept the events.dat and events.idx, which should be the original ones of Long Road.
That worked for me...
Anybody else?
Hmm. You should try it without --io.file_first.
That has been known to cause problems when used in Patch 1.2.
Have you checked if the new factions sound's are Ok with it installed?
"The first casualty when war comes, is truth." - Hiram JohnsonDeveloper of The Long Road Modification
ok, SRY, you are rigth...It seems not to be as easy as expected.
Kiev faction causes CTD, the other three new ones work fine.
Hungarian, Russian faction also causes ctd.
Spanishs and italians still talk german; spechfiles are installed.(have the german version)
French& English work well.
Testing the others.....
Hmmm, ifound something that migth help from an another mod:
playing with Portvcale and Xenophonia at the same time
1- install Xenophonia
2- rename the files events.DAT and .idx from the main sound folder (data/sounds)- NOTE : YOU WILL NEED THEM LATER.
3- delete or rename the files events.DAT and .idx from the Portvcale sound folder (Portvcale/data/sounds)
4- In the main data folder, paste this file
5-Run the game with Portvcale shortcut and wait until the game generate new events.DAT and .idx files in the folder “Portvcale/data/sounds”.
6-later, restore the events.DAT and .idx from the main sounds folder (to play with other mods without problems).
Maybee an extra descr_sounds_accents.txt must be made for TLR with all the factions?
Sry for spamming...
i think i made it for me.
I followed the instructions as in the last post and modified the
descr_sounds_accents.txt adding the new factions. Have no problems yet
and all seems to work.
I did this and it at least got the correct accents to each faction, before hey were not, but only French and German are actully in their respective languages. (Oh and English)![]()

yes, for instance, others like the original russians speak german and kievs speak english with eastern accent etc
it is not completely fixed
UPDATE: Okay, I have resolve the problem thus far
basically what you need to do it edit the sm_faction.txt so the order is the same as the vanilla version
this means by cuting the 4 new factions from the top and paste them in the bottom of the document
and the four new factions will speak the languages of the factions that has been replaced by them.
the factions from above are all speaking their correct languages respectively
hopefully this helps people out a bit
see my attachment if you have no idea what i talked about, place the file under the long road's "data" folder+...\The Long Road\data

alex, after applying your accent txt, the kievs still spoke english
would it be easier if you just upload your event.dat and event.idx?
since our sound files should be realively the same.

hmm, my kievs speak russian
my events.dat is about 7meg big...cant upload it here
Ive never used rapidshare...I ll try it later
BTW, i have the german version...Dont know if its matter but since i dont understand much of modding neither know exactly what im doing, its better to mention.

After downloading both of the above and trying the game, I found that the languages were all screwed up. I then deleted the event files. This seemed to get them in order as French, German and English are all correct. However, other than the Russians, who speak accented English, there are now no sounds for any other factions. Help?

Hmm, i remember having the same problem. I cant remember how i fixed it.
How big are your files?: my voicefile contains 24.675units
If the russianspechpack is installed and arent missing maybe you shouldnt use my accent.text AND lalas factionfile both together. Sry, but i have no idea why it works for me... i wish i could help but i dont understand much about how all this works
I just installed Xeno with ALL! speechfiles, copied the soundsfiles(even all the descr_sounds_*.* which were created by xeno)in the TLR file(I have read somewhere this could help) and then modified
the accent.text according to the factions. After that i deleted the events.dat and event.idx and started the game...It works.
Just for fun...give the russians in the accent.text another language and lets see if somethings changes. Hope sincerly u make it ...the russianspeech is absolute fantastic.
ok, i combined several times Xenophobia with TLR and this is how i got, it to work:
1) Install all the spechfiles with the Xenophobiainstaller in the vanilla MTW file.
There should be created a spechfile over several gigs.
2) Use the Xenoinstaller and copy the data and text files which are
created into the TLR folder. You dont need the Speechpack to be copied
TLR/data/sounds.
3) Becouse TLR has several new factions you need to modify the file
descr_sm_factions.txt. You can also use my file, but i made several
individ. changes.(portugals speak spanish, byzanth= russian...)
4) Delete the files events.idx and events.dat in TLR/data/sound/ and start
the game. Its possibel that at the beginning you have a ctd but this is
ok. Now , the game has created new .idx .dat files and all should work.
5) Try all the factions and if you have a ctd selecting a unit something is wrong.
6) The only Problem i have is that one or two islamic factions dont speak but this isnt as bad for me becouse i speak with them by the sword....
Hope i could help you
I did everything specified above but it doesn't work. I select a unit and it CTDs with an error message I can't see because of the black screen.
What language version of MTW2 do you own? Which faction crashes you?
"The first casualty when war comes, is truth." - Hiram JohnsonDeveloper of The Long Road Modification
I own the English version of M2TW. So far, the factions that causes me to crash are Spain, Italy, Milan, Venice, Rebels, France, Germany, Denmark, and even England... I also noticed that in the vanilla M2TW, I still get crashes...
I'm sure that I installed right because I've played mods while adding Xenophonia to it with no problems at all. Maybe it's because of the 1.2 patch? Or the TLR itself? I don't know.
