I've been pondering creating an AAR, but can someone provide me with some tips on how to make it interesting storywise? Also, how do I take screen shots?

to take screenshots while in game and save them automatically use fraps. google fraps and download it, its small so its ok. then choose the folder u want them to save to, pick a hotkey u want that takes the pics, like mine is f12. then crop/edit the pic to ur liking, go to www.imageshack.us and upload the picture, then post it here in ur aar![]()

You'll need some way of converting from bitmap (.bmp) format that the free version of FRAPS saves in to .jpg format, which you can upload. A free image converter like photofiltre (google it) is good - it allows batch conversion of multiple images.
From my expierence and reading others is that what you need to do is have an topic. Like what is your campaign about, and what kind of story you want it to be. fictional or w/e. You can make it w/e you want, it doesnt matter. So just make it like its you who is campaigning and your fighting gauls, slaves, carthage, or who ever. I think if you use your imagination than anything is possible.

I'm not a computer genius, but can you explain, or give me a link that explains how to change picture format
you can take screenshot directly without using fraps or any other 3rd party software. Just press the PrintScreen button on your keyboard and the screenshot you take will be stored in tgas folder in your medieval installation folder (where you installed the game)
Make sure you have TGA capture reserve space = TRUE in your preferences file. This is how I capture my screens. None of this FRAPS for me, I cant stand that stupid FPS thing. Plus it constantly reminds my of my crap computer. 10 FPS, laughing.
ok, thank all of you for your help and advice
From my experience, there are two AAR's which drive people crazy (which is good)
1. A very Humourous AAR, like mine are, draw a lot of people. With my style, I have a lot of fictitious conversations between nobles and the king snd his attendants, which are funny and lighten up the AAR a bit. Also need lots of pictures during battles.
2. Serious. Don't know much about this kind. It needs a lot of text, but I wouldn't know, I have never used this style.

For a good example of the serious AAR, look at MCM's one in the RTR Forums.

I only have one roblem with the battle scene pics, my computer is a lower end PC so I have to play with unit detail on low and all the other details on low to avoid major lag, so maybe an AAR isn't for me, at least until I get a new PC (which won'te be until I turn 18 in 4 years and get an apartement).
You're rushing things, dude. Enjoy the life while you are a teen and don't even ponder paying for expenses for now. Get a job when you're able to...start saving some money, and invest in building your own machine. You can't have a good gaming machine without either spending too much money or building it yourself. Those who pay someone else to build it -But one good thing is, perhaps you could get a nice computer that isn't for gaming yet, but add the gpu (graphics card) afterwards. Usually people make you pay a premium for having a good graphics card on top of the system - which shouldn't be the case. The newest and best gpu's are pci-e...make sure your computer/motherboard supports that...not just agp.
