OK so something else I've been wondering for a while is this. The Era's. I can see them progressing however I wonder upon which dates are the turning points? Like, for instance, when does the LATE era begin where I can build those best of the best units?


Playing as Russia im around 77 turns left. I think I was on turn 220 or so when I saw this. I have just found some High units, and am just beggining to throw them in my armies, BUT, seems late already don't it? I think my main issue is I've let the AI handle my taxes all game. That probably really stunts my growth. Im gonna start again with Portugal cause I want those cool looking Portugese Arb's.

There is no date when each era begins, eras are only used in custom battles. You can recruit units as soon as you build the necessary buildings, or gunpowder happens.
