    Default Wha Happened?

Playing as the Turks, this happened yesterday... Feature or bug?

    1. I take Antioch from Rebels.
    2. My "Ally" Egypt, declares war on me and besieges Antioch...
    3. Then someone calls a crusade on Anitoch, (even though I'm allied with 90% of the catholic countries including the Vatican...)
    4. Facing 3 crusading armies (Venetian, Polish and French) and Egypt, I gift the city to the Venetians so I can at least get my army out.
    5. Venice crusaders take over the city for one turn, but then it turns to Rebel ownership again and suddenly I have an extra army of what looks like mercenary Turkomans just appear!!!!
    6. Poland and France then both message me, and ask for a ceasefire.
    7. The French army leaves.
    8. The next turn, Venice attacks the army I pulled out of Antioch, but the Polish led crusade joins the fight...
    9. I high-tail it out of there and wait for all the crusading armies to leave.
    10. A few turns later Poland again begs for forgiveness.
    11. I go back and re-take Antioch from the Rebels...

So, I think a few strange things happened in there. Is that pretty much how the AI manages diplomacy?

Poland was probably allied with Venice so they had to join their army was close, even if they didn`t really want to. They really wanted peace and that`s why after they have asked for peace so no the diplomacy is fine not perfect but fine....

That makes sense. But then I wonder why the Venetians (with a full, unharmed crusading army) were expelled from the city after one turn, and it reverted back to rebel rule?

And why was I suddenly awared a half stack of Turkomans for free?

Because of the Distance-to-capital unrest increase in most settlement distress levels, it's nearly impossible to hold a middle-eastern crusade target unless you exterminate the populace. Since most crusades end up with the army just sacking the city, the enemy army probably had a one-turn riot. I only held Baghdad because my remaining force of Moorish Jihadis didn't have to deal with religious unrest on top of nearly full DTC unrest, for example. I gave Jerusalem to the Pope once for the same reason playing as the English (it's a win condition, even.

The big problem with unrest is not from the distance from capital but more religious unrest thats why I always bring atleast 3 priests with me on my crusade
