Icon2 Help! Problems installing new video card!

I have an 3.0 pentium IVmachine, an ASrock 775i65G motehrboard and an ati radeon 9800 128 mbs. Yesterday i got the Geforce 7600 512 mb AGP XFX, but when i plugged it in it didnt gave me any image. Since the manual adviced to first uninstall the old card, i agaoin plugged back the ati and entered window with no problem. Uninstalled all drivers and the card, turned off the pc and i again exchanged the cards. Thing is,now: i dont have image with the new nvidia, i dont get image with the old ati, i have no image whatsoever. Whats wrong?!what can i dotoday quickly before having to resort to a technician ( i need to continue work on my pc, time is short for me and im working on my thesis). Please advice! Thanks.

Try to install the drivers for your new card, that might help.
Did the Card come with a disc? If not go on to

    http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

select graphics driver, GeForce 7 Series, then select your operating system, then download the driver.

    hope that helps.

I hope you didn't fry your graphics cards, you did remember to ground your self, right?

You should double check to see if the cards is properly inserted. When you turn the PC on, can you see the BIOS screen at all?

so you mean when you turn it on, nothing happens at all?
maybe it's your powersupply, or something.

Try to start your computer without a video card, see if it boots up.
and how many watts is your powersupply?

That mother board has integrated graphics, correct?
Does it work? (also try without any graphics card installed, it should definitely work then).

Maybe the graphics card is disabled in BIOS.
Or maybe you connected to the integrated graphics instead of the graphics cards by accident?

Also make sure you connected the secondary power supply to the graphics card, if any is needed.

I connected the card on the correct port, im sure of it.

The power supply is 450, it says it runs ok with a 400 one so i dotn think im having problem there. I believe mmust have something to do with the bios but i dont manage that part very well... That and of course, i dont have image to work eith.

My last attempt was with a 3rd card, my old brothers one. Problem didnt change....

Last time I checked the 7600 series AGP cards needs a 4 pin molex connector from the powersupply, is that plunged in?

Also reset your BIOS, it's worth a try.

Additionally make sure that by chance you didn't disconnect the motherboard power cable.

Check to all. I think that the integrated video card is even diasbled, and i never used it before. The pc is now at the technicians, lets see what the problem was....

Well, its been a month and maybe i shouldnt resurrect this old thread, but, i thought that maybe later someone else would have the same trouble.

The pc went to the technician and 2 days later everything was fixed. It was indeed a BIOS conflict, he restarted it, not too sure how, and then everything went ok from there. The card is great btw, i recommend it, im playing MTW2 at high with AA 4xand normal size and no lag at all. Thanks everybody.

Usually you need to change position of one of the jumpers on the motherboard. It resets BIOS and then put it back in to the old position and it will work.
