Hey guys, I was doing some searching today for any Halo 3 vids. Well, here are a few that I've found from the Bungie Friends and Family Beta. Zanzibar's back, remade as Last Resort. Enjoy! Also, the Spiker kicks ass

I'm going to have to be honest here and say that it looks painfully generic. Gameplay looks identical, a handful of new weapons, and a couple of gadgets to make it a bit more interesting. As someone who thoroughly enjoyed the original Halo, and was disappointed by Halo 2, I'm not incredibly excited about this.

I understand what you mean. I believe that some of the weapons (Battle Rifle and Sniper) just look awkward. Still, I'm pumped to play it.

It's probably from the texture detail. GOW probably has the best of any game out right now, from what I've heard Halo still needs to be ascetically fixed up, so I'd assume that Bungie is adding more detail to the textures as well.

Well, it's a multiplayer beta first of all. That means the graphics are worse than Gears for two reasons.

1) Beta.
2) Multiplayer.

The only reason Gear's multiplayer was not toned down like R6V and GRAW 2 and apparently H3 is because it was 4v4. Halo 3 is 8v8, and thus the graphics are not as good as Gears. I still think they're impressive though, and I would much rather take 8v8 gameplay over Gears 4v4 anyday. Plus, it will just be better than Gears all around. I can't wait for the beta. I am going to bed around 10 PM Tuesday evening, waking up at 3 AM (EST) Wednesday morning and downloading the beta. If I can stay awake, I will be playing it till school around 7.

cant wait... im not part of the beta but a few of my other friends where i live have been accepted to it.... one of my friends 360 broke and he said he'll get it back before the betas over and my other one wont let me play it with him which sucks.. lol but cant wait for Halo 3 to come out.... I'm gonna lose a few months out of my life because of this game!

Betas have the same graphics as release. A beta is almost always just working out bugs on a complete game.

I disagree. You're right, betas are about squashing bugs, but also about polishing stuff up. They won't be light years better, but at the very least, will be smoother, sharper, and any thing else they can optimize/improve before release. Bungie has said quite a few times that the beta is not representative of the graphics of the final version.

GOW graphics look a little better, the textures in general, but I can't complain about those graphics, they still look good.

And the new weapons look sweet, can't wait to walk around with that minigun!

The beta's graphics aren't finished yet. They will be better. The weapons are some of the best part about Halo 3. The minigun is awesome, but you go extremely slow, can't jump, and only get 200 rounds. The recoil is also horrendous. BUT, it only takes between 15-30 rounds to kill somebody.

Well, as somebody who has been playing Halo 3 (beta and alpha versions) for quite some time, I can assure the gameplay is amazing. It is much better than either Halo CE or Halo 2. All the weapons seem brand new, and the 'gadgets' add an incredible amount of diversity to the gameplay (landmines to protect the flag in a CTF flag, mobile grav lifts to go over walls, ect.). It feels like a totally different game.

My favorite maps are Valhalla and Last Resort. Valhalla is an instant classic, and Last Resort is like Zanzibar on steroids. It is amazing what they have done with it. The 1 flag CTF is epic.

I agree. I played the campaign of the original Halo (on the PC), which had a good story but annoyingly repetitive environments. It can't stand up to classics like FarCry and Half-Life.

I think this game looks awesome. I just hope the single player is improved as well. Halo 2's campaign sucked.

it looks like its isnt better then Halo 2 but when actually played the different features are amazing... the turrets that now can be picked up are cool... and jumpin mongooses off the portable teleporters to jump the gate at Valhalla is a must do and great fun..

OOOH and the new Spartan Laser Gun... a must master in the Halo 3 game... 1 shot kill if you get it right

I honestly wish Bungie had finished the series with Halo 2 (which was thoroughly disappointing anyway). I can't get myself excited about it. Mind you, the return of the Assault Rifle might be enough to make me buy the game.
