I'm currently playing on Hard campaign and Very Hard battle. On Hard campaign ai produces better armies than on medium, but ai factions gang up on you more without being as bad as VH. VH battle difficulty has the most realistic fatique and morale settings.

That was in RTW, not in M2TW.Doesnt VH battle diff. give AI moral and stats bonuses? How can that be realistic?

I'm finding battles a little harder in vanilla 1.2 on M rather than VH - AI seems to proceed more rationally.
If only we could now combine the better AI armies of VH campaign with the better diplomacy of medium campaign...
Are you sure about this Lusted? I dont notice any difference in the type of armies built on different difficulty levels. Where is the evidence for this in the data folder? or is this hard coded or somethink? On Hard campaign ai produces better armies than on medium, but ai factions gang up on you more without being as bad as VH.
Also I dont notice much difference between H campaign difficulty and VH campaign either. The AI seems to go all out against the human player on H just as much as it does on VH. The only difference I see is the number of turns you can be at peace for and your faction standing drops a bit more each turn.

I have been trying VH battles a few times now. While they pick better units, they seem to keep making serious tactical errors with them both in LTC and vanilla 1.2 compared to medium--a little harder, but certainly not "very hard."
