Default Is this Mod a joke?

Seriously, I know a lot of people have already touched this topic, but are you creators of this mod completely insane?
You must be, or else my game is ********* up!

How is it that after first turn, with great public order and everything, a FULLY packed rebel army spawns just outside my capital?
Very well, I took care of them, but with some losses, which I then thought I could heal up now that the main rebel army was gone.
    But no!
Next turn another FULLY packed army spawns up, with full experience and armor. They besiege my capital, and I rush to help from all my other provinces. Next turn, BOOM, another army, similar, spawns up. It attacks my reinforcements and destroy them completely!
This has nothing to do with me being a bad game, nobody would could make it.
I cant do nothing, they starve me out of my capital and at the same time Flanders declares me war and attack another of my provinces!
I am fighting despretatly to gain control of my own home, and then other nations declare me war!?
I quit the game after 10 turns, it is impossible to play your mod, even for an expereinced MTW2 gamer like myself. I had put the settings down to M/M and I played as Denmark.

I dont get it... This MUST be a very bad joke!?

And one more thing, every turn I get these events about that my markets and harbours either goes up or burns down.
I cant see any real effect take place, so it just annoys me to see these events pop up.
Does anything really happen or is it just a bug in the mod that we have to look at these textmessages which doesnt mean a thing for us?

no joke. Read all the info before playing.
Every player gets in the 1 turn a first rebel army . For training. You can ignore him, because the army is quite immobile but it will effect your economy.
Other major rebel armies are only spawned if the happiness face of your original capitel goes below yello. They will attack your capitel. The normal spawning of minor rebel armies as in standard mtw is still there.
The economic events: look at your settlement details of your trading screen : then you can see the effects of the negativ\positiv trading events

You are wrong, the other rebel-armies spawned EVEN though my settlements were "green". My economy was good and my king was present in the settlement. Everything looked good, still they kept coming. I have never seen anything like that before.
I have reduced the rebel-spawning manually now, so hopefully now I can keep playing more than 10 turns.
I like the idea however about that the rebel-armies are a bit larger. I was driven mad from the many 2-3 stacks of rebels which kept spawning in the vanilla and other mod-games. Larger, but fewer rebel armies is a good thing for MTW2. (Just not when they all decide to attack you right from the beginning!)

No we are not completely insane, just slighty

Hope you sustain against the rebel hordes Vindahl. Once you get used to the different way DlV works may you enjoy the thrashing I often get when overstr-e-t-c-hed too far.

...and you can delete some files and replace others,i remove the DLV buildings costs script ,and replace for the vanilla ones, the price of the buildings are execive and turns the game unplayable but i think i remove some others files because im in 1240 and i cant recruit any general , dont have "man of the houre"
i dont recruit any new unit, only vanilla units...

like so many players told me, You need to build up your economy and keep a positive treasury. Even experienced players who have been playing since Shogun get their asses handed to them the first couple of times. You need to get the hang of it.

The rebel stacks are really challenging in the beginning, don't attack them right away. Use your treasury to buy some mercenaries (they will own the rebels) and build a few economic buildings. Or build a brothel and kill their leaders. Send your diplomats out or build a brothel somewhere and kill the rebel leaders Establish trade with close factions, make ports. Trade income is important in this mod.

And more importantly, don't give your threads such offensive bylines. Repman and his crew work hard on this mod. Really hard. That's really insulting man. I'm sure if you try, someday you will be a good enough player to handle this mod.

i've been playing since shogun and i have no problem with this difficulty lol... infact its still rather easy. but that aside this DLV is perhaps the best mod ever made for any of the total war games. i think it even beats out Europa Barbaorum for rome, and that was an amazing mod.

    @Repman

This is what I had complained about, too. As Denmark I got massive rebel forces sieging my capital turn after turn, even though the face was always eXtremely green.

i like the challenge, i survived the first 15 turns, but now my Counts brother is looking distinctly unhappy about just being the heir, and England has declared war on me. I will survive, even if i have to run away to oslo!
Total Rep = Unknown???? who will +rep me to the crown, whomever it is will get a mystery prize! or will they...

It's not that I can't handle rebellion in 3.0, but I just think that fighting rebels over and over again (or fighting rebels at all) is mind-numbingly boring, so I've just changed rebel spawn values to 60 and removed the rebel characters script from campaign_script for my new bugfixer 3 campaign (and yes - Frankfurt was completely green, but Otto kept on spawning...and spawning...and spawning).

hmm maybe the "and SettlementLoyaltyLevel < loyalty_content" check is broken now in patch 1.2, because i have not changed it and it was working in the older versions ?

The entry seemed to look okay to me, but I've had them spawn every few turns, despite the capital being in the green (auto manage taxes). Besides I've just noticed that I've just had rebels spawn in turn 5 of my new campaign with all late units in them (halbediers, imperial knights)...

Repman, It's not broken after the bug fix. The rebels don't respawn if your careful with your kingdom. I wonder if a king with really low authority effect it. Maybe?

Niccoli, I had no issue with your post. I just think the title of thread was disrespectful. Sorry if you thought my comments were directed at you, they weren't. Cheers.

ive never had an additional army spawn but i usualy keep my capital above 150.

Im having a great time with my HRE campain, all of italy has declared war on me, the pope wants me to burn in hell, luckly france is sticking by my side.

@Xtiaan72: No offence taken - I didn't open this thread or post in it before), so I didn't feel adressed or insulted.

I just pointed out that it's not just the ability to take the rebels on - but fighting rebels just is no fun for me...

Your post was completely valid and I agree BTW - the craetors put lots of their spare time into this mod and share it for free, so if someone wants to criticise, it should be done in a polite manner.

@Alatar98: That might explain it - I have auto manage taxes on and it might well be below it - anyway - I would rather raise the theshold for rebel spawn - happens too easy and often in my eyes...

No mod is perfectly suited to any one person, but I find that this one suits my tastes better than the others.
