    Default Shader Model 3.0

I tried to find it, but what is the minimum card that supports shader model 3.0 for ATI? For nVidia it is the 6 series but I do not know how ATI numbers/categorizes their cards so it is difficult for me to surmise..

So, if I said, "you need a card that supports shader model 3.0, nvidia 6 series and up, ATI __________ and up", what would fill in the blank? Thanks.

    Wikipedia is your friend:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeon#...or_Generations

    The answer: Radeon X1 series (X1300, X1600, X1800, X1900, and X1950).
nVidia adopted SM3.0 long before ATi did.
