how do i get rid of the new skies in stainless steel? is there a folder i can simply delete to get the old skies back?

Hi Forlorn Hope,

Yes, you can just delete the whole "globallighting" folder (in Stainless_Steel/data).
Then you will have the vanilla skies back...

I can see why Forlorn might want the vanilla skies back.. I've had instances using SS when the skies have been pretty poor, mostly in night/dark battles, the sky is black but you can see a clear and jagged cut off point where sky meets land. It ruins the atmosphere a little, and I'm wondering whether or not it's my graphic card or my setting. Seeing as my card isn't all that bad, and this never usually happened, I'm lead to believe I've got something set wrong to go with SS new skies. Can you think what it could be?

I thought that I would bump this thread for all the new players and gamers returning to SS. I am returning to SS 6.2 after a few months away and one of the first things that I noticed was the pitch black battles where it becomes very hard to see anything and the battles become a mess. If you are experiancing the same problems as me, hopefully King_Kongs fix can help you.

I kinda like the possibility of playing in the dark, adds more variation/difficulty/realisim to battles when you're not entirely sure whats going on IMHO.
