    Default Maps

I think it's only fair to warn our fans that when Patch 10 comes out, it will no longer include the Mundus Magnus 3 map (the current Imperial Campaign). Trying to pair this map with the big Icetorque\Webbird map was just impossible. I just couldn't balance the campaigns on either one without doing something....so Mundus was removed.

But this wasn't the only reason. Another reason is that we made the choice to focus on nations and tribes that had a relationship with this era and Rome. Eastern factions such as Bactria were rejected...they've been done in other mods...and we wanted to be different. And in time, this mod will be very different (faction-wise). Having made this decision, we felt the larger scale maps play much better, are not as 'crowded' looking, and allow us to do some other things we had in mind.

But, we still liked the Mundus Map....it is a very beautiful map. It is geographically superior, and deserved, we felt, our 'loving attention'. So one of our members (SquidRS) took it upon himself to expand the scale of this map, chop off the parts we didn't feel applied to the era, and turn it into a massive scale map you'll really enjoy. It is, still, a work in process however.
So it won't make it into this patch.

So don't be too shocked when you find the Mundus is missing...it'll be back.

Oh thank the gods. I freakin love the mundus map. I don't want to see this map disappear. I love conquering it. Taking all of saudi arabia, persia all that. I mean this Mod is excellent,Then with the addition of the mundus map made it even better.

The Mundus Map is a fantastic map it has to be said. Really is top notch as far as maps go but i can understand why youve decided to remove it. Big Maps area and scale is much better suited to RS and the factions included but will be cool to see a revised version of the Mundus Map at a later date. Ohh and goodluck SquidRS with editing it

The new map is pretty much done and no doubt you'll be seeing some previews at some point. Squid and Northern Ranger have done a fantastic job editing the Mundus map to suit our mod. This new RS map covers a slightly larger area than the Bigmap, but less than the Mundus. The coasts are all rounded off, the detail is great. We think you'll enjoy it.

Not to toot my own horn but the map looked absolutely stunning when I handed it off to Northern Ranger, and then he's turning it into draw droppingly gorgeous.

Dvk at one point when looking at the partially completed map said something to the effect of:

If all goes well, I will upload tonite. The brave can download and install the way they did it before. But Squid is going to make an installer to make it easier for the faint of heart. That'll be a day or two coming.

when you say install it like we did before, are you meaning by using UI batch files and overwriting the "data" file with another one. Or was it done another way before i installed it. Just wondering

Yup, just copy/paste the new data file and then run UI.bat, it's easy enough.
