unable to finish one campiagn CTD
I recently got RTW with all the expansions and prefer to play a game that is more realistic to history. So before getting 10 mins into the original campaign I downloaded RTR. Uninstalled everything and deleted the activison folder and reinstalled just RTW and BI 1.6 then RTR Plat 1.8. Followed all directions on the forums here and edited the shortcut. After playing to around 230BC I got a CtD that I couldn't get around which rendered the game unplayable. So I tried again same thing. Then i figured since RTR Plat 1.8 was not really made for BI 1.6 I should uninstall everything and just install RTW with patch 1.3 then 1.5 before RTR plat 1.8 for a more stable game. Then again getting to 253 BC I get a CtD that I can not get by. Is there any hope??? I am really sick of playing only to have to quit after hours of play. Any advice? Is this a RTR problem or a RTW problem?
FYI all the static crashes I can not get around are during one of the AI turns. Last time the German symbol which signifies its AI movement appeared twice before the CtD.

What faction are you playing as?
Can you upload a link to your saved game so we can test it?
Thanks.

Use the toggle fow command(press "~" during the game, type "toggle_fow", hit "enter" and again "~" to make the panel disappear) to see all the map and click end turn. See what is happening prior to the CTD.
Also, check to see if any settlements are about to rebel. If so, try to stop the revolts. Ideally this would be a solved problem already, but you never know.

I was playing as the Romans. I am away from my computer currently but I will upload my save game so you can have a look at it. I will also follow your directions and see what is happending right before the CdT by revealing the map. Thanks for the help.

Re: unable to finish one campiagn CTD
I used the toggle command and watched what was going on when the CTD happens and it seems that the Illyrians boat moves just before it happens. There are no settlements in my kingdom that are going to rebel.
Here is the link to my saved game.
Thanks again.

Re: unable to finish one campiagn CTD
Right now the remaining devs of RTRPE is currently working in RTR7 ,so i guess they dont have time to test or develop RTRPE much as before, byt still work on RTRPE is continuing slowly byt still continuing...
So far RTRPE is one of the most stable mods around, CTD sometimes happend even in vanila RTW..And if u r bored with RTRPE u can try some modification for RTRPE like IMP2, 77bc, Limes AE... and many others...

Re: unable to finish one campiagn CTD
This CTD occurs so early and has not been reported to me before. Perhaps its a matter of a corrupted savegame file. The RTW game engine occasionally does this. I would try loading a savegame file from before the savegame file that you posted.

Re: unable to finish one campiagn CTD
I've had the same problem. Twice now. Two major games, both as Rome, both occuring in Summer of 216. I have long since resorted to saving my game in 4 rotating slots before I take any action in every turn, but this crash after I end my turn in Summer of 216 seems to be a "hard crash". Two seperate games have ended here. I will try toggling the FOW to observe what exactly is causing this. I am using RTR platinum with the most updated version of the Extended Realism mod.
