Default Highest E6600 Voltage that's safe.

What do you guys recommend to be the highest to go on CPU Voltage for a E6600 if temps are still good?

go as high as you want as long as the temperature don't exceed 60C on load.

    Really?

I figured out that by upping my Voltage I am able to go higher than previously, currently 3.51 whereas before I was only able to get 3.2 stable. But I am at 1.6 V and was concerned, although my temps are still great from what I can tell.

I'll keep going a little bit at a time. Thanks.

Only problem with higher voltages is that the higher the voltage the faster a chip degrades, reducing the lifespan of your CPU.
But the normal lifespan is very long (something like 10 to 20 years of constant use) so even after reducing it (to, say, 5 years of constant use) you'll almost certainly still replace it long before it's time is up, unless you go completely wild on the voltages.

You'll also want to keep an eye on the core temperatures. (sometimes referred to as Tjunctions, but this isn't entirely correct)
Both have to stay under 75, even if Tcase is under 60C.
I'm not sure if it's physically possible to make the core temperatures go past 75 without raising Tcase above 60, but it's something you'll want to keep an eye on anyways.
To read the core temperatures you can use this nifty program:

thx for posting that link Erik , I've been looking for a program like that.

i personally wouldnt put over 1.5V on your cpu if you want it to last more than a year or so..

Thanks guys. What's the most accurate program for reading Voltage? I've checked it with 4 separate programs and they all read it differently. Speedfan reads it at 1.61V, CPU-Z reads it at 1.213, Everest at 1.60 and CoreTemp at 1.325oV. I have it set at 1.65V in the bios.

I'm using air with the ZALMAN CNPS 9700 NT 110mm. I went up to 1.7V in the bios at 3.712 and most everything was fine till I ran a benchmark and it Blue Screened (something to do with intelppm.sys).

I backed down now. My temps have started to go up as well. 30C fully idle and 50-55C under load.
