    Default Thiefs wearing humiliating inscriptions

In the emo thread there was a linj to that website where I found this:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...n_page_id=1770

The woman standing with that paper is condemned for stealing a seven dollar candy. She says it was a misunderstanding. Even if she lies...I think this seriously violates human rights.
I hope those politicians who stole millions from the public, and live in corruption
will stay with such tables one day on the streets. And the judges who sell out justice, but punish pretty criminals.

There is a story about Cato, seeing two officials carrying a thief: look, said he -the big thiefs carry the little ones!

    Such is the world's justice.

Heh heh, I like this judge's style - creative brutality and evil of this kind, mercilessly inflicted upon the weak and helpless...it bears the brushstrokes of terrible genius that make life worth living for those who learn to wield the mace, rather than to be the fools crushed beneath its blows.

It could be that the kind of punishment is a violation of human rights or personality rights.

Yeah it' cruel, it's also pretty funny, maybe she shouldn't have stolen the damn candy. Fitting, if you consider that shoplifting is a cowardly way to steal stuff anyways.

And it's way better then jail, which I consider to be a far crueler punishment by far.

It's certainly better than a 60 day jail sentence. Keeping someone in jail that long costs a lot of money!

Her story sounds implausible. Taking it to the service desk? You're not shoplifting unless you take it out of the store. Why would she take the candy out of the store to go to the service desk? That makes no sense.

Why taxpayers shoud pay for her 60 days rest in jail? Thats is cruel and inhumane punishment for all this "loosers" who don't steal.

i say we go back to cutting off facial features - a nose for this, an ear for that

and branding is a good idea to identify certain criminal groups - who needs Megans Law or Amber Alerts when you can brand pedo's foreheads with the words - SICKO or the like

    Yeah, cause that’s clearly analogous.

the real thieves are the people who steal the dignity of the English language and misspell words like thieves.

No, but seriously, youre right. I often marvel at how vandalism and grafitting is such a terrible crime in our society when there are so much worse things to worry about.
