Thread: Europa Barbarorum FAQ

  1. #21

    Default Re: Europa Barbarorum FAQ

When your generals move into enemy territory, his army becomes susceptible to a hit on their morale. The longer they are out there in enemy territory the bigger the morale hit and the more likely it is to occur. Having a general with the logistics traits and/or with good management reduces the likelihood of suffering from bad supply lines.

EDIT: Why the hell did you post this twice? There was only an hour between the first time you asked and the second. How impaitent are you?

Is quickload safe in this game?
The FAQ says you will have problem if you return to main menu and load, but it doesn't say about quickloading.

The only problem with loading without leaving the game is possible script problems. They aren't critical in any way, though. Most commonly, you will get teleported to AD14 when you activate the script and have to activate it again, then everything will be fine. Also, loading a save without exiting can cause silly things like two winters in a row.

    Thanks.
I think I won't quickload just to be on the safe side.
    I have 4 another questions.
1.Is there any plan to alter/add building models? The default building models doesn't look so accurate to me(especially "barbarian" ones).
2.Is there any plan to change city plan into something more accurate?
3.Is there any plan to change the phalanx animation so they would hold their pikes with 2 hands even when they are moving?
4.Have the team already decided the 10 new factions for EB2?

-we have something up our sleeve but generally we don't have the ability (i.e., people and skillset) to do much building modeling.
    -ditto
    -don't have the ability really
-not all of them, but most have been decided on. A few of the last slots remain that we are still arguing over, but there is no big rush on them, the others are plenty to keep us busy.

What software do you need to edit battlemaps, buildings etc.? Both for RTW and M2.

Yes, currently celtic recruitment is split into three reforms. At the moment they come at specific years, but in the next release I believe they will be like the roman ones and rely on certain conditions.

In the Kataphract reforms say I give the Saka the city Baktra for four winters do I have to fight two seperate battles and lose them or can I have one battle with two generals, each losing some bodyguard?

Also, what counts as a large battle defeat (number of men) ?

The four winters thing is for the Saka reform and has nothing to do with the Cataphract reform.

I believe you have to have two separate battles. I don't believe the system can identify a second general participating in a battle.

You have to have more than 250 men.

For Hayasdan, I'm trying to get the Zrahakir Netadzik unit.
I did all the requirement, but Homeland resource haven't appear in Armavir or any other cities, it all has the alliance resource still.
    Why is it like that?

Oh and one more thing; do you have to lose a specific number or does it just

have to be a defeat involving 250 men?

The government resource will not be replaced, you will just get the "Homeland" building added to the bottom of the list, in addition to the "Alliances" building.

I beleive it is 20% of your army and 20% of your bodyguard that has to be lost.

    Marcus,

I tested this, In my As campaign I'm at the year 250 b.c having fought two

battles with different generals (I tried this with both family members and

merc. generals) and lost with the army and general's guard both losing around

half of their men yet nothing has happened

edit: Has anybody successfully triggered the reforms

or is the fact that they work based on dev. confidence?

Look for the trait "Facinated by Cataphracts" or something like that. You loosing general should get that trait after the battle.

I tried again and this time I made sure the general fought the kataphracts

directly and still no trait. When I get the trait, do the buildings that build

kataphracts immediately appear or do I transfer the losing general to a city?

Once you get two guys with the trait, the reform marker will appear in cities. I forget if this reform requires you to upgrade you MICs, but it may.
