finally got my marian reformer but nothing happens

hope you can help me, i love the mod, espacially the rpg like character developement.
so i finally got my marius. he became consul in 169 and got the reformer trait. hungry for new units i waited for my kickass marian troops to appear. but nothing happend. the marian reformer is now already ex consul, and i am afraid he might die soon and i am still only able to build polybian troops. what am i doing worng, what have i not done, what shall i do ?

Do you mean you got a random general called Marius?

Because the Marian reform script occurs at a fixed turn number.

So i think you just need to wait but I'm not sure.

the reforms trigger when certain criterias are met. one of them is a general with:
sharp/charismatic/vigorous,
popularis,
consul or ex-consul,
two command stars,
and him being your faction leaders.

you need as well having fought 250 battles and 45 provinces.

if somehting is wrong please correct me.

Have you had the script turned on at all times? If the reforms were successful you should have marian pre-cursor building in all your type II and type 1 gov settlements. The game should also be destroying your old polybian MICs and putting in new ones. If this hasn't happened, then either one of the conditions has not been met, or at some point you had the script turned off for a few turns, which will mess up the turn number it thinks its on so they may arrive a bit later.

@ foot. you might have been right so i continued to play on, but now i am in the year 156 and still no reform. so it has to be something else.

correct me if i am wrong but the necessary conditions are:

year 172
6 latifundia built
45 settlements
250 battles
character:
2 command stars
2 influence points
sharp charismatic vigorous
popularis
consul, ex consul

i got it all and nothing happens.
what is wrong?
and how can i make it trigger otherwise?

Well, you need (directly from the script):
Polybian Era
7 Latifundia in Italy
400 turns (172BC if you've been playing with the script on at all times)
45 territories owned
a guy with the "Reformer" trait

The only problem I see is: Do you have six Latifundias in Italy?

yes, all in italy. rome capua arpi arretium bononia and the city in the southeast with T. do mediolanum, patavium and segesta count as italy as well ?

This is v0.81a, right? There was a case where it was bugged in v0.80, but that part was removed for the time being...

downloaded eb in april or march. has there been a newer version realeased since then?

The last release was the v0.81a patch. It seems it was released on March 5.

When you start up EB it should say what version it is on the startup menu in the bottom left.

Ok, try this:
Go the the folder "...Rome - Total War\EB\Data\scripts\show_me\". In there, there will be one file "EBBS_SCRIPT.txt" (the EB script). Open it up and look for this part (in the section 1c):

Ok, now 'comment out' everything but the year (and necessary stuff) with the ";", like this:

Then play EB, activate the script, end turn, and you should have the reforms the next turn. If you don't get them then you either: are still in the Camilian Era, haven't played for 100 years, or have some sort of corrupted data.

EDIT: I may have found a typo that caused your problem. You have to have 7 Latifundia in Italy (not including Mediolanivm or Arpi). You could try building those seven, if you haven't already (instead of what I wrote above).

so now something happend. i did what you said and the reform triggered.. but i don´t know if this is a bug. because i got several new and awesome infantry units but except the siege waepons now long distance weapons, means no archers no slingers, i am also missing any cavalry. is this a bug or meant to be like that ? thx for answers.

You use auxillaries for those roles.

Build up some factional MICs in Gaul, you can then build Gallic Cavalry Avxiliaries. (Also in Germania, Iberia, & Thrace.) Romans didn't use many archers, so you have to use foriegn troops if you want missile units (until the Augustan Era).

Just do what I do and switch over to the Celtic Slinger. They're better, anyways.
