Default Something is really messed up with this computer

First of all, it shut itself off sometime last night, and it wouldn't boot up again this morning until I reset the switch on the power supply. Then Windows locked up on me for no apparent reason, and when I rebooted, I got a message after Windows loaded that "A registry entry had to be replaced from a backup copy. The recovery was successful."

Hopefully it will work fine now. What could have caused this though?

I got similar problems when my hard-drive was breaking. All the files got corrupted and I had to get a new hard-drive.

I suggest that you back up all your files just in case.

I also had this problem after I installed a new graphics card, and the power supply was too weak to support it.

I've had that before, and it deleted a lot of my files. Luckily, a backup copy is made - mines called Account.1805, and it has a lot of files in.

I think I screwed this thing up a bit about 5 months ago when I overclocked too far and it wrecked the temperature gauge. Also, I tinkered with the voltage settings a lot, but eventually set them back to the recommended voltage for a PC of my specs.
I scanned for viruses about an hour ago with Avast! and it came up clean. Tonight I'm going to run a check for bad sectors.

Edit: I have just been informed that there was a power failure due to weather conditions during the early morning hours while I was sleeping. Guess that explains the shutdown.
