I swear the Pentagon is worrying me with all the stuff they are working on. This, the nano tech body armor, the helmets out of some scifi movie that will translate the voice of the soldier into any language. Even if only half of this stuff actually works future soldiers are going to be a scary thing.
I will reenlist if the implament these things we as long as they do it within 20 years.
I find most people irritating

Don't these fools see how much more practical and useful it would be to merge a targetting-systems for a shoulder-mounted assault rifle with soldiers' brains?
What else has man dreamed of since the dawn of time, what has he yearned for, but to kill by the power of thought alone?

I'm sorry. You can do stuff to me, but I will never whore my body out to become a cyborg.

This is remarkable but hardly surprising. Our understanding of the brain improves all the time, and we're at the point when we can make basic interfaces to it. We've seen them in medicine, the first step for many risky and new technologies, and now we're seeing them in the military, another first step for many technologies. It shouldn't be more than a decade or two before we have successful consumer products based on this kind of stuff.
