sigh, an old problem rears its ugly head.
after turn four, three out of four of my generals acquire pagan magician trait. one of them was governing a city building a small church, and all three were in provinces with no less than an 88% catholic population.
    stupid pagan magicians

Isn't that just the typical messed up traits? They aren't necessarily bugs. I recall that LTC 2.2/2.3 removes the trait fixes that were in 2.1... Though don't quote me on that cuase I don't remember for sure.

Oh im hoping you all are enjoying the new thing i've added to 2.3 that makes the installer copy across the sound files from your version of the game instead of me including my own English sound files(needed for the mod switch to work properly) like in previous versions of LTC.

2 minor issues below. Could of course technically be due to installation issues and/or MTW patch 1.2 degrades. First of all, I had LTC2.1 installed, then installed 1.2 MTW patch, then LTC 2.3. Never bothered with the inofficial patch..

    1) Noticed that sometimes an already reconciled faction can get reconciled again. Seems to happen rather often. E.g. Pope dies, new pope is elected. England is shown as reconciled on the pope-o-meter. But a few turns later it gets reconciled again.

    2) City barracks and free upkeep seems abit broken. Playing Denmark ATM, VH/VH, so I keep tabs on expenses
I noticed that at some level of city barracks the town militias are no longer free upkeep, only spear militia and cb militia are free. As I recall, for each new barrack level the new trainable units gets added in the description. But for this barrack type, cb militia seems to have been added and town militia removed. So have to scrap town militia units and build e.g. spearmen to have free upkeep units. Edit: it is the city watch and stone wall combo in Arhus that gave me this problem. Town militia cannot be trained with city watch, so no free upkeep anymore.

Thanks for a great mod, Lusted!

is there any way there can be a hotfix for rampant pagan magicians? sorry, i'm no modder myself. anyway can someone remind me of the console command to remove them?

That would be "remove_trait this magician_pagan". Though to be honest you're probably better off editing the trigger for them in the export_descr_ancillaries.txt file which is easy enough to do.

Is Income from mines deliberately disabled, or is that a bug?

For example, i started a HRE Campaign - and i could build a mine at Bologna - but the tool tip said "this will earn 0 per turn" and i checked to see if it was just a tool tip error, and it wasn't.

It's meant to work like that. At higher level barracks low level troops are no longer recruitable, and with the way free upkeep works(only those units the city can recruit which have the free upkeep ability are free upkeep) it means you have to disband low level militia and replace them with higher level militia.

Bug, i'll do some testing and see.

Which begs the question, is there any way per modding that units can be upgraded to another unit type in order to save money and experience rather than simply disbanding and stating over?

It crashes everytime with me as the Byzantines in the year 1200, as I'm going into 1201. Specifically, when it seems when it's Milan's turn. Of course, in the system.log.txt file it is "Unspecified".

EDIT: Well I restarted my computer and tried it again for dumb luck. I guess I got lucky, it isn't a recurring bug, though in a sense that doesn't help since now I definitely don't know what it could be. Bad memory I guess.

Hhmmm for some strange reason the settings aren't saved.
I check "micromanage all settlements" at the start of the campaign and checked it in the preference file to see if it is on and yet in-game it's not on. The cities and castles without a gov go on "auto-manage".
I have to go to the options menu and click the "always allow bulding and recruting" everytime I enter the game in order to disable the auto-manage.

My game (Scotland) crashes to a black screen, always at the same moment. I see a mouse pointer on some parts of the screen, and not on others. Even CTRL-ALT-DEL doesn't show the task manager, although pressing power off turns the comp into shutdown mode, and I see the Task Manager for a second before Windows (XP SP2 btw) shuts down.

The crash occurs when the Portuguese attack Toulose (under French control, I'm personally not involved at all...), which they sieged a turn ago and which is a Crusade Objective. This is the second crusade in the game. All other battles work fine. It instantly turns black, at the exact moment where the animation of the knight swinging with the sword at the city should start.

Happened with LTC 2.3 on 1.2 official, after removing LTC 2.1 from a 1.1 install. So I uninstalled MTW, deleted folder and did a fresh install of MTW,1.2 and LTC2.3, still the same.

Any explanations? A way to fix this, or at least fix my save game? I invested quite some time, plus I'm reluctant to restart as long as it can happen again... :/

All very unfortunate, otherwise an awesome Mod Lusted! I'm really enjoying the changes you made, thanks for your work and your efforts!

EDIT: 3.0? Where's my brain, I must have left it somewhere... of course I mean 2.3

Not a mod bug ffs, read the M2TW bug list before posting things like that.

That's a problem with using the mod switch, you can change your options in M2Tw, run cfgfixer.bat in the Medieval II Total War folder and they'll appear in LTC.

A small problem: Playing with the Turks, after the Mongol Invasion (they appeared in Baghdad region - strange) after some hard bloody battles, before killing his last general (khan) they appear again with the same strong units killed some turns before on the battlefield, and so on (right now it's the third time). Actually I have now two strong armies around Mossul, castle, and I destroy them quickly, but they keep me blocked there. Is that a bug or a feature? Are they going to disappear if I will kill their leader third time? Thanks!
