Family Tree Won't Display

I am currently playing a H/H campaign as France using 2.2 and the leaked patch...I don't exactly when it happened but for some reason my family tree has disappeared...When I go to the family tree scroll there are two portraits, the first king and queen of the Byzantine royal family

However, family members still appear and I still have sons come to age so I think everything is functioning just not displaying properly...Any idea what caused it and how I might fix the problem?

Have you altered any of the character names, specifically those for the starting family. This is one way your problem occurs...

This happened to my Spanish campaign (which was doing really well and it drove me to quit it). People said it had to do with marrying princesses off to faction heirs who become leaders or something...which is strange, it doesn't happen every time. I usually marry off princes in most games.

i believe this occurs when a general you "stole" from another faction (by marrying into your family) becomes faction leader. but when he dies, the family tree should return.

While I will not be able to see what eventually happens as I started a campaign with Denmark w/ 2.3, that would make sense since I stole a Byzantine family member and he became the king...
