Default What do you do with your bad governors/generals

Since aja5191 told us to take it to a new thread, we will.

Me, personally, I line up onagers and various other siege engines behind said governors, and constantly advance that line forward (with protection for the engines right behind them of course). Once I get close enough to the enemy, I send those horrible governors to perform a suicide charge. If they win, I throw them in the outer provinces and see how they do, if they rout...

FIRE AT WILL!! (Works like a charm)

But it'd be cooler if the game actually allows you to fire on routing units...

And if they somehow still screw up, then repeat process.

Oh, and their family line gets exterminated. (either the kill_character cheat, or wait for the sons to come of age, and then send them out to die like their fathers, or put them in a crappy navy and have that sail out to pirate infested waters.)

I like to send them on long voyages towards Britain, good fun. Seeing how long they last is always a laugh.

i use them. generals cavalry are good cavalry. doesnt bother me if a general is bad, a governor in a province is still a governor, and in most cases thats enough to keep the populace from rebelling. if they're really. really bad, i'll send them off on campaign (with the intention of winning, not suicide ) and recruit a new general/governor/proconsul in his stead.

Ive never really had that bad a problem with my generals really in RS or RTW. Either i dont pay enough attention so never notice or else Hellenic factions produce better generals? only time ive really had bad problems was with some of the Germanic generals in BI...they always seemed to be drunks

But if i do i normal just stick them in an army with a better general and then use them as a heavy cav unit and if they die they die...if not well they are a useful tool to have. Oh else i send them around my empire to pick up mercs and kill any stray rebels

the germans tend to make huge navies and do nothing with them, so i put all my bad generals on briemes and send then up against about 15 ship stacks.

If you have a lot of them, stack them up and use them as an army. It's deadly efficent.
