As I am sure you have heard, the death threats against Obama have become real enough that he has been given a Secret Service detail

I, personally, always believed that Colin Powell did not run in 2000 (god, things would have been different huh? a commander in chief who knows how to win and when not to fight) b/c he believed he would be assassinated.

I also think Colin was right not to run(and yes I know the official party line on why he didn't run) b/c he would likely have been killed.

The crazies in this country are damn crazy, and the racist element has always claimed that the country belongs to them not just because they are white but b/c they are Christian.

So, with Obama's muslim roots, it stands to reason the radical christian right is going to try to kill him not only b/c of his race but b/c of his "religion" as well...

Opinions? does anyone believe a black candidate with a muslim past can manage to stay alive long enough to get elected?
