Well, theoretically, its an opening/bending of space/time that would allow something to jump from one area to another at high speeds.

Well there you go. It was a rocket, and the spiralling thing was a stage of the rocket separating and falling, spinning, back to earth.

It's a shiny sparkly thing. I don't see why anyone thinks that anything unidentified is automatically an alien. Just because you don't know what it is means it's an alien/ghost/whatever? I mean, if it's a little green man who says "take me to your leader", okay, but most sparkly things I have encountered in my life are not aliens, to the best of my knowledge.
