    Salvé brothers.

    Bella here. I proudly present the official announcement of BellaMod: Clash of Creeds. This preview will allow the community to see what's in store for the mod and monitor the progress as development proceeds.

    Goal:
    I wish to provide the community with a more realistic (expanded) campaign map to let slip the dogs of war upon. But the realistic campaign map is not all I plan to offer. I will be in talks soon with other talented mod leaders about incorporating their individual mods into this one to complete a larger vision.

    Special Thanks:
    ˇ Ali_the_English - for all your very helpful research and work while I'm consumed by the Bossman.

    Current Features:
    ˇ Extended campaign map including an accurate as possible portrayal of the Americas
    ˇ Entirely new land, heights, regions, features, climate and ground types maps
    ˇ Historical region names
    ˇ Turns time frame will be 1 turn = 1 year
    ˇ Turns shown as date
    ˇ Campaign time period of 1071-1600 (may change)

    Planned Features:
    ˇ New historic city-specific buildings (HSL mini-mod)
    ˇ New historical events
    ˇ New units
    ˇ Recruitable generals
    ˇ New textures
    ˇ New climates
    ˇ New ground types
    ˇ New user interface
    ˇ Custom splash/loading screens
    ˇ Much more...

    Compatibility:
    ˇ Compatible with the official 1.2 patch.

    Progress (Grand Campaign):
    ˇ Campaign Map = 25%
    ˇ Overall = 20%

    Until I have the fully working campaign map, I'll post this screenshot of the new height map that will show you the extension of the campaign and the improved accuracy and relative positioning of the land masses:



    And here's the vanilla heights map so you may compare the extensions achieved:



    Keep checking back to this thread's first post for updates and screens once they come. Thanks to all who have helped this mod get off the ground and thanks to all the wonderful modding teams out there that inspired and taught me how to create this mod.

    This looks great - I cannot wait to see you develop this into a full functional mod.

    I will watch with great anticipation. How many factions are you looking at having? Just the standard or will you add additional ones as well?

    I'm pretty sure he's adding more. Can you imagine the diversity of the Americas. You could have Aztecs in the south, in Mexico, Native Americans in the northern areas. It's just so full of diverse factions.

    I think it will be interesting to see which native american tribes he chooses to portray, there were so many and they we never really united. I would like to play with the mayans and aztecs and maybe even have the incas sneek in at the bottom of the map from south america.

    What years are we looking at covering with this mod? I would like to play as pirates in the caribbean if that is possible, but that did not happen till late.

    On the question of new factions, I'm not sure at the moment. I'm just a lowly graphic designer who loves the TW series and was lucky enough to have the research and teachings of great modding teams from TWC at hand. While it is very possible you will see some new factions in this mod, I won't say anything is for certain. I would definitely need help from people skilled at modeling and skinning for that to come to fruition.

    As for the time span, I'm currently contemplating 1060-1600 A.D. 540 turns (and years) of world conflict and history should be a nice play.

    Now thats a map! Love the extension west its exactly how far I wanted it! BTW are you going to add any new provinces to the vanilla regions?(I.e England, France, Greece, ME, ect)

    Yes. There will be new provinces for the original lands. i.e. - Nantes, Stuttgart, etc.

    My only fear is that if you add new regions to the old territory's your going to hit the region limit without enough in the americas.

    If I remember correctly, the vanilla map has 111 or 119 regions. Something like that. So that'll leave me with about 80 regions to add. I'm going to keep it balanced but fun.

    Is this the western map or did you combine the western and eastern maps?

    edit: The official 1.2 patch does not affect this mod. I've play tested it tonight with the patch and it works just as it did with the leaked patch.

    This particular preview is for the western map only. But this mod will be two-fold. While the default Grand Campaign will be the western version of the map, there will be a separate eastern campaign version available using the custom provincial campaign feature Alpaca wrote a guide for.

    In other words, this mod will feature two full grand campaigns. East and west.

    Scotland, Ireland, England, France, HRE, Venice, Milan and Sicily are added into the map now. New regions included are:

    Tórshavn, Exeter, Oxford, Cambridge, Glesca, Corcaigh, Belfast, Gaillimh, Nantes, Clermont, Leipzig, Stuttgart, Dresden, Nissa, Trieste, Ancona, Bari, Catanzaro and Siracuse.

    Iberia is up next.
