    Icon4 Windows Media Player

Hello there, I get strange bugs when playing certain types of .wmv files (some few don't get this bug) ... the bug is through the visual aspect of the video, the audio is untouched.

The bug makes the video green (with a few other supporting colors) and makes it unclear to me (sometimes human skin shows as purple ) but when I open Windows Media Player classic, I don't get this bug (I have WMPclassic and WMP v10 which has the bug.)

Can someone please tell me how to solve this?

    Thank you very much.

    Only use WMP classic.

Yes... I seem to have the same problem

When I play any video in Windows Media Player, and in every other player, it shows a black screen, with only a few red/green/blue pixels moving around. However, when I use WMP Classic (w/ K-Lite Codec Pack), I don't have these problems. This problem also manifests itself in other programs, like games, where .avi cutscenes are not rendered properly. Audio, however, is not impacted. I'm guessing it has something to do with the codec db in Windows

    Agreed.
Also, download and use VLC Media Player. It plays partially-downloaded files and supports any format. I highly recommend that.

Oh and you should also download the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack if you wanna play all downloadable formats.

AFAIK VLC can't play real media files, or can it?

I'm using WMP classic for real media, and VLC for everything else.
Works fine, but I rather use VLC for everything.

Re-install your video card drivers, it worked for me

But WMP is needed for some cut-scenes and you get this bug and can't change the player...this is where the major part of the problem starts.
